I read that, it repeats wording of the ST ToS [straighttalk.com] Unlocking section. Did you confirm that with ST or TF chat CSR, since if you interrupt the consecutive 2-months term, it might affect remote unlock.

Also, I wonder if someone posted whether the phone can be activated on a trip outside of TF & Verizon network grid, or in another country like Canada? These folks may have to use some web offered 3rd party paid unlock service [unlockbase.com] instead of buying PINs & going through TF unlock channel, or use free Pixel unlock [xdaforums.com] temp Firewall method to unlock.

I've done many of these and they all unlock 60 days post activation, only need 1 month service not the 2nd month. Just fyi, my Verizon (not yet activated) sim activates my iPhone when inserted. Perhaps just using a not yet active Verizon sim is enough to start the 60 day countdown?

I would use the sim card that comes with the phone.

I was told by ST CSR, the phone is shipped by them with a new SIM inserted into it. Can someone confirm that, if the SIM comes in the box or inserted into the phone? Also, is there a way to find out the phone IMEI & Serial number from ST upon shipping by the order number, instead of reading it from the phone? The CSR said they have it on record for each phone sold, but don't give this info to the buyer.

Hi! Have you unlocked tracfone android phones with just 1 month of payment? Someone posted on reddit that Android phones need 2nd month of service too to receive a code.

Would be great if you can share your experience

I have not, only iPhones. Even though their policy says 60 days post activation, it is possible they won't release the unlock code without 2 months.. of service… need others to chime in

9- Power off and turn on the phone, your phone should be activated by now, make a few test calls and/or texts
10- Text UNLOCK to 611611
11- You should receive a text saying "Congrats, your device will be eligible to unlock" in 60 days.

and just like that your device should be elegible to be unlocked in 60 days, the unlock is not automatic on android devices, only Apple devices will automatically unlock, you will have to contact TracFone costumer service in 60 days and they will help you unlock it.

Here's another thought on the helpful post above:
Is it possible this will become easier (or harder??) over the next few days, as TF customer service is [we assume] bombarded with requests to do it???
My phone should arrive soon and I'm just dreading any kind of interaction with customer service. Really hoping it can just be done easily over a chat session with minimal begging, pleading, explaining.

So I activated the phone via tracfone chat and it works. However I wanted to login to tracfone site to examine the account but I can't, says to call their customer service. I tried chat but they couldn't solve it. I have a straight talk account and I think that is conflicting with tracfone somehow? Are you supposed to be able to manage your tracfone account by adding that line into straight talk account because I can't seem to be able to create a tracfone account using the tracfone phone number and sim serial too? BTW during the tracfone session, the agent initiated a password reset and the email I got was from straight talk so the service are connected.

Supposed to be delivered tomorrow, but does this require signature at delivery?

Looking at my tracking info on UPS website, doesn't look like it, but seems like in the past when I've bought from straight talk/etc. it has.

I got two phones from ST. I was at target and there were plenty of $15 Trafcone cards. I got two of those. Today I used chat option, which initially refused to appear. I called the customer service which was closed automatically when I tried to avoid the bot. At this time I was very disappointed. But soon after that chat button surfaced on the website, and after that everything went fine. Agent told that the plan pin was incompatible...and I asked for rebranding to tracfone and within a couple of minutes my phone was ready. Restarted the phone and received the text message confirming my plan and phone number.

One of the text message says my plan payment is due next month, hopefully I can avoid paying next month (I did not give my address or credit card number as it was not needed)

When I texted UNLOCK, it showed the eligibility date and asking to call the customer service for unlocking. Hope the unlock is automatic.

It usually says that but you do not need to call, just go to the website and enter imei and phone number to proceed.

if we only take one month of the service, that phone number will be gone for one month silence/no service??? I guess we can't use the number anymore to unlock the phone???
