Is the default screen better or the higher res one? Also, does the higher res one affect battery life?

The higher res screen has a lower overall brightness and 165hz vs 240hz. So the battery life will probably be similar even though it has a slightly higher resolution.

Bought this model a month ago. Very happy with almost everything. Would recommend sticking with the QHD+ panel (2560 x 1600) as it is more power efficient than the higher resolution panel. The speakers on this thing were better than I expected - nice and loud. My only gripe is that when charging, the battery gets pretty warm. This is probably due to the high capacity (99.9 whr) battery crammed into this svelte chassis. Once the battery is fully charged the heat dissipates.

I did this yesterday with 15% cash back and military discount. I didn't want the 3.2K screen (I'd never use it on a 16" display). I did add the 16GB for 32GB. and 1TB storage

Seems overpriced for a 4060. Bring it down to $899 like the last two generations and we have a deal.

This also layers with a Capital One credit card 5% cashback, as well as cashback from other famous cashback websites. For the R-ten cashback website, there was 15% available. An additional 5% is available from ID.me service through school/employer verification.

Thanks OP, in for one.

Per the video reviews, the build quality looks excellent.

If you want to bump the 4060 up to 4070 and stay "slim" you have to switch to an i9 and pay $500 more for it. :/

wow this looks pretty perfect for me, but although I understand that as a gaming machine, why it has a dedicated power adapter... however is it possible to also charge this via usb c?

I have 90 watt chargers all over the house for my current laptop so I can move around, and it works great. I know this is what, 240? but I don't do any gaming, just coding. I'm ok with slow charging (especially since the battery life also looks pretty stellar for the specs), but if I am limited ONLY to the adapter that's a deal breaker...

can anyone confirm? please say no so I don't spend the money Big Grin

The USB C allows up to 140W Power Delivery. But personally I wouldn't buy a gaming machine for coding or anything else if I don't game at all.
