Well, for you there might not be a point, but not everyone can afford or wants to spend $1000 for a phone, which IMO is moronic, and some people do want to keep all or most of their photos and many videos on their phones, which are their primary digital device, in case they want to see or show them, and there isn't fast internet around.

I recently got an A54 which for my needs is more than fast and powerful enough, for basically nothing after a bunch of rebates I got on it, and it comes with a MicroSD slot, into which I'm going to put a 512GB card, this exact one in fact (unless someone can convince me that the Pro Plus would be a better choice).

One other advantage to keeping your personal photos and videos on your phone is that it serves as a secondary backup that's always with you, in case something happens to your primary backups.

Can someone explain under what circumstances one might prefer to opt for the slightly more expensive and faster Pro Plus?

I do the exact same thing as everyone else here. I keep certain photographs on my phone and have a backup of it. I'm not dumb enough to keep everything on it because if something happens to your phone, that SD card is gone. That phone is gone! It's common sense to back it up rather than leave it all on your phone.

Has it never occurred to you that best practice is to back up everything on your phone to several backup devices but keep this content on your phone as an ADDITIONAL backup device? You make it sound like it's got to be one or the other. But I seriously doubt that most folks here are dumb enough to not do this. Sheesh.

And, given that this is a thread about MicroSD cards, obviously everyone here prefers phones that have slots.

The tendency of people to mentally set the base model, instead of the premium model, as the Platonic anchor price, is purely arbitrary but they attach some sort of cosmic morality to it. Prices are not merely a reflection of costs but of willingness to pay. Maybe Apple should release the base model after the premium model like Samsung does with with FE so people will be like "My prayers have been answered! A huge discount for just a slightly worse phone!"

That reminds me my Pixel is starting to bug me like my old iPhone now that I'm running out of space so seems only takes year to fill up 128GB with just pics since that's all I really use it for!
Anyways, might get this for my S7+ tho since last microSD card I had in it got corrupted and went bad. Really should check and makes sure it wasn't a Samsung first laugh out loud

If the device is capable of supporting more than the 130mb/sec of this card.

In my case I need it for my son's Nintendo Switch xmas present, and the switch only supports 95mb/sec.
