Yeah the prices are crazy even with the discounts - you can buy almost everything they have for hundreds cheaper elsewhere, which makes no sense.

How are these guys still in business? Selling $2000 ergo chairs and you can't even chose "high back" as a filter in their search.

What's so special about them or is just another overrated product designed to service the fortune 500?

If you live near Oxnard, CA, DWR has an outlet store there usually has a lot of inventory for Embody chairs. I got two from there for around $700 each.

Their 12 year warranty certainly helps, but yes very overpriced. People still pay for them though so they just keep jacking up the prices until people stop

Definetly overrated chairs. I don't say it is not solid, but overpriced and overrated. Software engineers are not that rich anymore like 3 years agoSmilie

These chairs are essentially BIFL. They are very well regarded in the industry and have excellent resale value even for 20 year old chairs.

I bought a used Herman Miller Aeron which is at least 20 years old and it still looks brand new and works great. I liked it so much that i ended up ordering an Embody from an authorized dealer (at a 40% discount). This specific sale is very meh.

These are expensive, but I believe it's a case by case basis as to whether or not they are overpriced. I bought an Embody about 3 years ago which I now use in my office every day, and I bought another last year for my home. I've had 5 back surgeries and chairs have been a huge problem with pain. I went through quite a few different office chairs before buying the first (which was like $800 or so at the time). These chairs have given me a much better quality of life from what I had before so the price to me was worth it. Both chairs have held up great.

Few years ago I brought the steel case version of the chair for $5 at a flea market, Herman Miller great ,aron would be my choice from Herman Miller if I had to but new
