Pex A wants to go back to its original shape vs Pex B (meaning if you accidentally kink a Pex B hose, you'll have to cut it and start again; if you accidentally kink a Pex A hose, if it doesn't automatically return to its original shape, you can put some heat to it and allow it to flow back to its form)
Pex A fittings do not restrict flow. A 1/2" Pex A fitting will allow a 1/2" of water flow.... where a Pex B fitting will drop down to 3/8" and then back to 1/2"... so you have a slight bottle neck. Truth be told, in most residential applications, especially smaller homes, you won't really notice a difference or much of one.
I am not a licensed plumber but I play one in my head but on my show I re-piped my home built in 2003 with Pex B all with Pex A (except the copper coming in from the street) and I am glad I did. I had a lot of calcium deposits in the old Pex B fittings, at the shut off valves for the sinks, toilets, etc.. The BIGGEST water flow restriction I had was when I changed my water heater. I was actually amazed I had the water pressure I did because my incoming water and outgoing water lines were almost solidified at the heads with deposits. This would happen no matter what fittings you use, but I am just naming this because I might not have known how bad it was at all of the fittings had I not undertook that long journey.

and price has been way more than discounted $299. it's been $389 and recently discounted to 299, by amazon.
Pex connections forever, I know the expansion type supposedly restrict the inside of the lines less, but I haven't had any water pressure issues. Do I switch over to expansion, or just keep doing what I'm doing?

It works great, but if you have a sandy crawlspace, you really want to make sure you dont drop it, or you are going to be spending some time cleaning sand out of the head. But, I guess that goes for any tool!
