I hear you.

$350 PS5 was a screaming (and an example of true/rare actual BF) deal especially 3 years later from launch date AND no other retailers have come close to that. The 2nd cheapest phat PS5 I have seen so far this year, speaking for myself that is, is $429 from the military sites. Now it just $449.99. That's a $100 difference!

There is the newer Series S in black that has 1TB of storage, no disc. That's what I would consider their mid-gen refresh. Takes what was good from the Series S (size, simplicity) and throws the black and the storage capacity on it. Is it a true mid-gen? IDK.

I'm really torn right now. I'm a PC gamer, never been a fan of consoles. My wife has a Switch (BOTW/TOTK), but is interested in playing Hogwarts Legacy and maybe some other games if she enjoys a more powerful console. I have Gamepass Ultimate already (for the PC), so it *feels* like getting an XBOX is the smarter choice. I've always had Playstations previously, and from what I can see it's the ojbectively more desirable console. I also have the AMEX Dell $40 off $200 offer on 2x cards. Stacked with 15% CB, I'm looking at the Spiderman 2 PS5 bundle at $500 - $80 (AMEX) - $75 (CB) so ~$350+tax (on $500). That is very compelling, but I get no use from my 2 years of Gamepass Ultimate.
