do not recommend mainstays dressers. they will not survive more than 2 moves, no matter how carefully you transport them. The drawers sit on an indention in the wood and they will slowly grind down and make the drawers useless. or the front of the drawer will come apart from the thin bottom panel that holds the clothes up. spend a little bit more and get something that isn't frustrating please

For all those that are talking about the poor quality. It IS very cheap quality BUT with a slight amount of extra effort you can go out and get a couple of reinforcement brackets for pennies on the dollar and some slightly longer screws and I promise it will last a lot longer. I have a dresser that I've had for going on 10 years.

Good to know! I picked up the 5 drawer in Rustic Oak with low expectations of it lasting long term. Do you think the insurance is worth 2-3 bucks to cover for a few years with expected issues down the road?

Also, would the reinforcements and longer screws be needed during the initial build, or done after?

Insurance on furniture is mostly a scam. Insurance on WalMart furniture gets your SD account deactivated.

adding reinforcement after it's built would be fine to know where you have room for bracing and better fasteners. I recommend liberal use of wood glue during initial construction.

Got this last Black Friday for $60. No uneven drawers. Rock solid. In fact it's right now serving double duty as a TV stand for my 65" with all the shelves full since I downsized to a studio. It survived a cross country move too in perfect condition. About all you can ask for in the cheapest furniture you can find. Has 100% exceeded my expectations which were quite low.
