My wife's lenovo went out and she likes the brand. And I used to run a Lenovo repair shop, so I'm a bit biased myself. Smilie Been looking for similar specs. Thanks!

$317 for open box excellent.

thanks for posting this OP Smilie

If this helps anyone out

https://psref.lenovo.com/Detail/I...82H803SBUS

some more info on the laptop and

https://www.youtube.com/watch?app...vC2dplQ948

upgrade options

One question and answer on BB's website mentioned a user upgrading the ram and adding a crucial 1 TB drive to the laptop .. annoying the price on the 1 TB crucial drives I like went from $50 to $60 but they've still served me well

Thanks. I looked at that psref earlier today to try and confirm it's 8GB soldered and one bank free (instead of 4+4). Sounds like that's true. I ordered an extra 8GB stick from BB for $18 and planning to upgrade when I pick them both up in an hour or so.

FYI - it looks like the youtube video may cover a different model (or models), and the SSD may not have an expansion slot in this one. The 15ITL6 platform has many configurations. Here's the storage section. This one in this post has a 45Wh battery.

Looks good, considering it, but wish I could find something exactly like this for a little more with a 17" monitor (touch+full HD screen+RAM above 8gb or upgradable 8gb). Everything $500 or below that is 17" seems to be missing one of those features.

I agree with that preference. My main laptop is 17" and I really like it.

My wife's going from a 17" to this 15.6" one. I had asked her what size of laptop she wanted, and she wanted me to give her examples. Just so happens I have a 14", 15.6", and 17". Que the Goldilocks reference. Oh, and she has to have a numpad. I hate numpads! :-D

It's actually for my dad. He's getting old, so I figure a bigger screen would be nice, and he really likes his touchscreen on his old 15 inch laptop. He's running Windows 10 on an HDD, so he could really use any upgrade, period (his laptop doesn't have a SSD slot).

If it were for me, I don't care about a touchscreen at all, which would open up my options big time. 17 is a little clumsy if you actually use it in your lap, IMO, but definitely better when you're posted up at a desk.

The 8GB PNY RAM worked fine with the 8GB that's built in. I did run a RAM rest and found the model of the soldered RAM. Could be useful for those trying to get Dual Channel to work.

Overall, the wife likes it. Looks nice, snappy, keyboard feels and works nice, screen is good, etc.

Happy wife happy life. Smilie

I have a Microcenter next door, but I don't think I am finding anything on the market that has i5 + SD reader + 512 storage for this price. This looks OK.

Lucky! Smilie I went to a microcenter for the first time (the one in Denver) a few weeks back while on vacation. Don't have one near me. I was like a kid in a candy store.
