I don't see too many comments from users that actually purchased this particular deal... so here's my short story:
Purchased this and Woot sends you the code hidden in a shipping confirmation email (the license key is the tracking number). I almost didn't notice it at first! Immediately tried the code since I needed it for a new build, and it didn't work. "The digital activation and/or product key you have entered is invalid."
Promptly sent Woot a message saying it didn't work, and I got my refund. I bought another key since then from a different seller, and it worked fine.
As others have mentioned, do NOT hoard these since Woot will not do anything for you months down the road when you happen to try it.
Very likely grey market. but who knows for sure.
all I can say for sure is no true authorized reseller/genuine product ever have issues with keys not working....and all these woot/stack social "deals" seem to always have issues for some people where the license doesn't work/is marked used/invalid etc.
It's a minority who have issues- so I am certain there will be the white knight defenders of "this worked for me, 3 years going strong!"
Woot has undisclosed 3rd party sellers for much of the stuff on their site now. So in all likelihood this is some Key site/market selling an abused Volume License key via Woot at a markup.
It will probably work for most people immediately, and may well work indefinitely. but if you're going to go semi-legit, you can get cheaper elsewhere
If you're feeling creative (or in a bind like your friend), you can use Rufus to create a bootable USB drive (using the Win11 ISO in this OP's Deal) that bypasses the system requirements for WIndows 11, allowing you to run it on 'unsupported' hardware.
Just for kicks, I did this on a old Dell Optiplex from 2007, and it worked just fine.
so, being an oem key is this a license that you can only put on one device and cant move it to another device.
Yes I'm quite sure that's the deal. But if you want a clean Windows install on a new build you plan to keep for a long time, this'll do the trick for reasonably cheap. Beats the heck out of the retail version for $200 at Best Buy, and outside of reloadability to another computer I think it's pretty much the same product.

oh lord, who in their right mind would pay $200 in this day and age with all the other options like this.

Anyone bite on this and see an expiration date to use the code by? Did something like this for a lifetime Office sub a couple years ago and nearly missed out on redemption as I was still slowly gathering parts for a new PC build at the time.

I would and did back in windows 7 day. I probably went through over a dozen motherboards since that time. Granted the upgrades have been free so I only had to pay that higher price once.
I'm looking to build a Mini PC in the near future. These keys would help with a barebone setup with no expiration date on the install of Win 11, right? I've been out of the game too long.

Agreed. When was the last time any of us "regular-smegular guys" reinstallled windows keys on their new build or upgrade? Not me…Not lately…
Just make sure to check if the current laptop meets the hardware requirement for Win 11 install. Easily check by installing "PC Health Check app" on it and confirm.
My friend got danged due to this.

I understand Rufus will work even if the computer does not meet the criteria.
