For anyone shopping for a superautomatic with a built-in milk frother, the Philips 2200 LatteGo is $399 on Amazon[amazon.com] right now. Just another cheaper option to consider. I own a DeLonghi Magnifica XS superauto and it works great for me.
I have the $45 offer on the Amex platinum. My wife's Plat and Blue don't have it. So it's ymmv.
Actually didn't notice until SDRacer mentioned it and used another card to buy it. Could've cancelled / re-bought, but I don't plan to keep the Amex Plat, and the card I actually used will give extra 2 years of warranty.
how does this machine compare to the philips like the lattego 3200s due to their similar pricing. which one seems more reliable?
this machine is essentially the direct compeition to the 3200. Look on youtube from those coffee shops who compare both. basically all of them say the Delonghi magnifica EVO is better, but both are good machines. They all say these remarks that you could easily see which they favored, with some reviewers bluntly saying the evo. Only one amateuer reviewer I saw favored the philips.
Also the magnifica evo is newer. the 3200 is few years old already.
I think the only time I wouldnt pick the magnifica evo over the philips, is if its the philips 4xxx or 5xxx lattego series. But 3200 and below, its magnifica evo
Not trying to get into a super auto vs manual debate, but curious what others would suggest: either this at ~490 with Amex offer, or Breville Barista Express from target @ ~400 with cyber monday sale and stackable coupon. Just bought the BBE but haven't opened it. Had a manual espresso machine before but have also used automatics.

You can watch below if you haven't already. I had a lower end completely manual espresso machine which I have to grind and tamp myself. I used it a lot when I first bought it, but now I seldom use it anymore because of the time it takes. No way we can do it in the morning before heading out with the kids. Both me and my wife are coffee drinkers.
I basically decided to get the superautomatic because both me and my wife and press a button and get a decent drink in the morning and head out.
The Express Impress w/ the assisted tampering will be helpful as well, but it also takes some bit of work.
In the best case scenario, I would prefer to have something like an Express Impress for the weekends, and the Magnifica Evo for morning rush. I decided to get the Magnfica Evo
Bottomline is, your usage will determine which machine is good for you. The Express/Express Impress definitely extracts better, but if you want a drink every morning, do you have the time to do it?
Or, if you have the time to do it, or it's more of a leisure/weekend drink machine for you, then I think the Express (I like the Impress's assisted tamping) will be better.
what is the difference between this machine and the one at Costco. Both of them look same. This one has couple more options and also packed with a bottle for frothing. Can anyone chime in their thoughts which one to buy. Costco seems to be hassle free, i am not sure if we get same peace of mind direct purchase from vendor.
