Non-gamer here, looking for a cheap family office desktop, but boys (elementary school) asking for gaming capability….likely intro/basic stuff Minecraft, maybe Halo etc

Was about to pull the trigger on this for $417 shipped:

Victus by HP 15L Gaming Desktop TG02

Intel® Core™ i5- 12400
8 GB DDR4-3200 MHz RAM (2 x 4 GB)
256 GB SSD
Intel® Arc™ A380 Graphics (6 GB GDDR6 dedicated)
350 W 80 Plus Bronze power supply
Windows 11 Home

Would it be silly to not spend the extra $335 to get this ($751 shipped)?

I just bought a Samsung 990 pro 4tb when it was on sale for $200 to initial replace my PS5 1 tb 980 pro with heatsink. I'm thinking of just putting it in this PC do I need to do anything special to install. This is my first gaming PC

Thoughts on this deal over the G15 deal the other day? Ryzen 7 7840, rtx 4050, 16 gb, 512. My total cost the Dell Amex promo was 640.00 total.

i remember back in the day you could build your own pc for cheaper.

but now these prebuilts are cheaper than buying the components separately
especially if you factor windows license

are the I/O in the 3D picture accurate? seems to have one VGA port on board and one on the graphics card, but specs say one displayport? based on processor type the onboard video is a no go?

LOL I used to build my own systems for years but have been out of the loop a couple decades, now my teen wants a real gaming PC

Yep. If you aren't pushing your system, on the games you play, it makes little sense to upgrade now. Upgrade when you need it, and tech will be cheaper.

It's tempting, even for me, but I haven't pushed my current rig beyond it's limits.

I grabbed a Windows 11 X64 Pro license for $40 on Woot a few months ago.

I bought the CyberpowerPc for $600 in the link below.

I guess the major difference is the cyberpowerpc has the 3060 12gb and the msi has the 4060 8gb card.

Is this MSI worth the extra $100??
