Amex is making things confusing now. Only use the app, online only, or only mobile order pick ups. I tried to use MCD offer, wanted coffee, $15 goes quick these days, but realised it was for mobile order only.
The easiest thing here is to buy a GC .
For new users, create a new account, then buy a peet's card, $25. will that work?

Don't bother with the new customer 10% off. First, when you enter your email, it says "do you want to upgrade to 15%" by giving us your cell number so we can spam you? The "no thanks" button didn't appear for me the first time, so it was accept or close the window. Second try there was a no thanks button, but this just closes the window, no code for you. If you give them your number, you do receive the code, but it does NOT stack with code CHEER, so just use that and skip the BS.
I have this offer on my Amex, but maybe I'm missing something. Peet's is so much cheaper on Amazon it doesn't make much sense to me. For example, Major Dickason is $19 for 16 ounces or $16 with Code on Peet's. On Amazon, Major Dickason is regularly $10 shipped for 18 ounces with S&S. Unless my math is wrong, it's still gonna cost more on Peet's website even with Amex offer.
Peet's ships coffee roasted within the last couple of days, so the beans are fresh for longer. I've had great luck with buying from them.
Another option is to buy beans from Costco.com, even though you order from Costco, they are shipped directly from Peet's. Only problem is they have a limited selection.
I used to buy decaf Peet's beans from Costco but now they only sell ground decaf.
If you are serious about your coffee, it's worth buying from Peet's.
I'd stay away from Amazon for anything that has an expiry date or can go bad. Been burnt too many times.
If you have Costco membership, they carry Peet's beans and are often on sale, like $15 for two pounds.

And you can grind them there (at Costco) for free.
