The only thing it's missing is a rotating timing bezel (super handy feature -- you'll find yourself timing all sorts of stuff).
I guess I see where you're coming from with the green band, but you could swap it. As-is, I think this watch is more functional and less hideous than the hubcap-sized offerings from Invicta and Fossil.
