Vatic is not an American company. It's similar to almost all pickleball companies - an American owner designing and dropshipping from Chinese manufacturers. Source: I'm a vatic rep. Engage is one of the few American companies but they're over $200/paddle.

Which these are not lol. These are the lowest of the low in terms of quality/performance. If you're an absolute beginner, they'll work -- but after a month or two, you'll definitely want to move up to something better.

Unlikely to find a cheaper set as this is roughly the same price as the manufacturers charge directly on aliexpress - but no waiting for international shipment if ordered here. FWIW almost all paddles come from a few factories in China and they sell generic versions on ali for cheap.

I used these exact ones for perhaps a month or two when I first started to get into pickleball. If you are looking for a cheap way to see if the sport is for you, this is a great pickup, try them out and see if you like it! If you don't, barely lost any money. If you do, time to go looking for some better paddles.

If you think you're at a point you know you're going to spend time playing, or you already play, pass on these. They are very low end, offer very little spin and control, poor sweet spots, etc etc. Go with something like Juciao if you want to save money on a decent paddle or Vatic if you want high end paddles from an American company that are tournament approved.

Not a good paddle, probably ok to start with but you need to have good paddle to improve your game. Selkirk Halo is good one for beginners and intermediate players but will cost around $120-130

These are not great paddles, but you don't really need a good paddle to be good at pickleball. It's much more akin to ping pong than tennis in terms of the benefit of amazing equipment.

Yeah I personally don't notice too much of a difference between these and the 100$+ paddles. The sweet spot is often smaller but I use tennis rackets w smaller spots to improve my hand eye. Similar to ping pong, this relies more on form than equipment imo
