Just picked up the Wiim Pro Plus on Cyber Monday and plan on testing that out for a bit. I'm tempted to go Sonos just to please my wife but I'm hoping she can figure out how to Airplay Spotify to Wiim.

This port is inferior to the prior version. The main reason is that if you use the digital output, it is not bit perfect. The digital signal is processed. The only way to bypass the processing is to set the output volume to maximum and then control the volume with the external DAC or preamp. That defeats the simplicity of controlling the volume with the SONOS app. The other reason is that the tiny switch mode power supply wall wart is less powerful than the built in power supply in the prior version. I have compared in detail both versions and sonically the prior version is superior. The port is more responsive in the app though. As an audio buff, I have the wired 4 sound mods of both. and the wyred 4 sound mod of the prior version is the best sounding streamer I have heard under $1k until the eversolo A6. You should be able to find a used version of the wired 4 sound modded prior version for a little more than this price.

As a Sonos owner, this is absurdly overpriced.

If you're trying to connect your turntable (or other analog audio device) to a Sonos speaker, I JUST discovered two iOS apps: Quanta and AirChord. Take a look at these. They may meet your need without having to pay $270 for an audio input that should have been included on your speaker from the beginning.

If not, this might be the cheapest you're gonna find this particular product.

What is the amp they are connected to? The Sonos Port is a source that would connect to your standalone amplifier.

Nope only the Sonos sub works unless you have the Amp.
