I picked up the $60 Ridgid one, put a sawdust separator on it and have been loving it! Almost nothing gets through the separator.

16 gal is also twice the space. If you do not have a lot of space or if you plan to also use a separator, 8 gal might be enough. I'm seriously considering this one

How does this campare to the 50$ Hart's. Have the Hart and has been with me throughout a full demo and reno no issues but need another vac. This or another Hart. Hmmmm.

I got this when it was $80 I think. Great vac, you can buy a DEWALT hepa for it and it will keep the dust down from drywall or sanding

Lifetime.... Yeah right. Though Ridgid right? Pretty much anything you buy from Costco, with few exceptions, has a true lifetime guarantee, just bring it back to Costco and they refund you.

I'm actually using this same unit for drywall sanding right now - bought it as I have it's big brother and I was tired of hauling it around the house.

It works just fine for drywall dust with the included filter, but it does get clogged up easily. Fortunately unclogging it is as simple as shaking it off. If you're really paranoid though, just connect another hose to the exhaust port and stick it out a window. Regular Ridgid hoses fit this model.

4 Horsepower is already lying to you, the entire "Peak Horsepower" measurement in consumer goods has become a marketing game to fool the ignorant.

On a 120v 15amp breaker any motor advertising greater than ~2.4HP is just tricking you, if you aren't plugging it into a 240V (Dryer/Oven style) or a 20Amp outlet with an odd T shape on one of the prongs you aren't getting 4+ HP, let alone "4HP Peak isn't a lot"

Don't listen to that guy as he knows nothing. First he assumes this vacuum has 4hp when it's 5. Then he recommends 6 when even a 1-2 will pick up dirt, etc. Usually a 4-5 hp is more than enough--a quick google search even says so.. And then he says Rigid makes the best vacuums when Dewalt is the better one according to Project Farms vacuum showdown.
