I chuckle at the over the top retro-marketing of these and the silly variations they offer. It's certainly an iconic look but today as something someone would wear, to me, they look ridiculous. But seeing them nostalgically reminds me when we wore All-Stars as kids. They cost $11-12. Nobody's parents would shell out for Adidas Superstars, which we all wanted, but at the time were like $30 or $35. Converse made a variant of the All-Stars called "The Winner" that was sold at Sears. Also, there was a Converse "Coach" hi-top that was pretty similar except the treads were not the square pattern of the All-Stars but rather star shaped raised surfaces on the bottom of the shoe. They cost less than the All-Stars, I want to say $7 or $8 a pair.
My daughter has two of these in canvas colors from the last couple years (12yo). Apparently they're in style, I call them her stompers. Unfortunately I needed a 7.5f. I made the mistake of not looking at size availability before having her choose a color and realized neither fit after. TU anyways
I just bought them both for my daughter who is 15, she loves the other ones I have purchased so I know she will love these. These are definitely sneakers for children.
It does look like it only goes up to mens 11. So I guess any shoe is technically a mens shoe if your feet are small enough. I actually kind of liked them, but chuck taylors always have a super narrow toe box and never fit me well.
