What's considered fast charge? Is the 5w brick normal charging speeds? My iP12 charges faster using a brick like this.

Apple uses 20W chargers, but this device losts iPhone 8 and up will not work with the quick charge 3.0. IPhone users now can use apple 30W chargers for fast charging.

No one should buy a charger with USBA in the first place tho.

It's Quick charge - a first generation technology for charging over USB using voltage higher than 5v in USB-a. Qualcomm has it proprietary with royalties, versions 1.0 to4.0 before USB-c and Power Delivery became standard.
In general, this is another archeological discovery of e-waste.
I can certainly see some use for old good 5V 2.4A mode -for a fan or so, but that's it.

Great deal for well made charger which is still useful. Genuine Qualcomm chip inside. Not merely "QC compatible" . USB-A to USB-C cable included. Anker only produced a handful of genuine Qualcomm QC chargers and powerbanks all of which are well made. Most own something that requires or will work better with genuine QC.

- 654 ratings, 95% positive.

- Fast safe 18 watt charge for Cameras, power banks phones.

- Arlo cameras required QC

- Safest and fastest charger for many Android phones up to 18 watts even if they also accept PD. Delivers fast charge with smart voltage adjustment at 18 watts without heating the battery. Best charger for Galaxy S10 and older and I believe newer Galaxy still supports AFC / Q.C.

- QC is not included in many new chargers especially GaN which means that your non-PD devices, banks and cameras will only slow charge at 5 volts.

- Safe for iPhone and other devices but may charge them at a slower rate.

- Better: Belkin QC4+ 27 watt is still available on ebay. My fav phone charger. Has C port. Use C-to C or a C to microB.

Yes. That''s it. Easily identified by the QC 4+ logo on the side. I have three. it charges my 10+ to 80% in under 30 minutes compared to this deal's Anker QC3 which takes 1 hr 45 minutes. Never had one get more than slightly warm to the touch. U.L. safety certified. They were originally sold with a quality 5 ft Belkin c-to-c cable. I purchased Belkin's accessory Mixit cable C to mico B to charge power banks, flashlights, cameras and legacy stuff. They were in the phone stores. People were confused by the C port. Folks want tiny chargers these days but these are high tech keepers which will likely last years while also greatly reducing device battery wear. I don't have any newer Android to rest but I'm fairly certain it will fast charge them as well especially any with Qualcomm Snapdragon cpu's.

You will never see genuine QC 4 and up burning melting ports and cables like what is happening with generic USB C PD today. 28 watts on QC4+ is plenty for me.

from: https://www.ht-transformer.com/in...92560.html

"Quick Charge 3.0 introduced INOV (Intelligent Negotiation for Optimal Voltage), Battery Saver Technologies, HVDCP+, and optional Dual Charge+. INOV is an algorithm that determines the optimum power transfer while maximizing efficiency. Battery Saver Technologies aims to maintain at least 80% of the battery's original charge capacity after 500 charge cycles.[7] Qualcomm claims Quick Charge 3.0 is up to 4–6 °C cooler, 16% faster and 38% more efficient than Quick Charge 2.0, and that Quick Charge 3.0 with Dual Charge+ is up to 7–8 °C cooler, 27% faster and 45% more efficient than Quick Charge 2.0 with Dual Charge.[5]"

Quick Charge 4 was announced in December 2016 alongside the Snapdragon 835. Quick Charge 4 includes HVDCP++, optional Dual Charge++, INOV 3.0, and Battery Saver Technologies 2. It is cross-compatible with both USB-C and USB PD specifications, supporting fallback to USB PD if either the charger or device is not compatible. It also features additional safety measures to protect against over-voltage, over-current and overheating, as well as cable quality detection. Qualcomm claims Quick Charge 4 with Dual Charge++ is up to 5 °C cooler, 20% faster and 30% more efficient than Quick Charge 3.0 with Dual Charge+.[6]

Quick Charge 4+ was announced on June 1, 2017. It introduces Intelligent Thermal Balancing and Advanced Safety Features to eliminate hot spots and protect against overheating and short-circuit or damage to the USB-C connector. Dual Charge++ is mandatory, while in prior versions Dual Charge was optional.[8][9]"

QC 5 does everything USB C PD PPS does but better. It is cross compatible with USB PD PPS programmable power supply. QC is superior and safer for devices due to technology and quality control but its controller chips cost more than generic USB which made it impossible to compete. That's why it has become imperative to not only look for safety certification on USB PD but to check and make sure that it is not fake.

What models will you be charging? Post minutes it takes to get your phone from 20% to 50. 80 and 100% will be helpful to others. Be sure to use a 5 amp or better fast charge USB cable.

If you have any power banks then try the mico b inlet if present as that will yield faster charging on these than the c port. Use an adapter tip or a c to micro b cable.
