This is the top rated comment from another SD thread … when this product was for $30 and this was a FP deal …

"I have this. It works decently.

Heads up, there's no SD card slot. So if you don't pay for a subscription you at best get a 10 second clip.
There's no onboard storage to use the free playback feature like their other cameras."
Price is good. I have this product, and I am not happy with it.
This is my 2nd doorbell from Wyze (2nd one I got as a replacement to 1st one). However both of them were operated as just a normal doorbell after certain days though I still have campus subscription.
I can see thru camera but no notification. even someone rings the doorbell I don't get any notification
So far Product experience is not really great.
1) No memory card

2) Subscription not required, but limits you to short clips with an cool down period between clips that the user can't change. Not sure what the cool down period is now. It used to be five minutes, but now it appears to be one minute according to the events mine recorded yesterday.

3) It is slow to connect, and often requires multiple attempts, slow enough that I added a second camera to watch the front door just because it opens faster.

4) Not that wide. I made a 3d printed angle plate to tilt it sideways and down more than the included plates can, but smaller packages still can't be seen if they are placed right next to the door. If that's a big priority, there are other doorbell cams that have a second camera that's tilted down significantly.

5) If you're only buying it for a second Chime and have no use for the rest of it, the Chime is available on Wyze right now for $13.99 and shipping is free if you have an Amazon Prime account.

v2 has SD card slot which allows local storage and it works with existing chime. So depends on your use case if you want those, then v2 is better.

The chime alone is $20. But I will say I had mine replaced on warranty. If you are on the Wyze environment then it's a good deal.

I already have this but would buy another just for the the extra chime if multiple chimes can be paired with one doorbell. Anyone know if this can be done?

It is a good deal, but only if it meets your needs. As mentioned it does not have local recording so you have to have a subscription to record any video that comes out of it beyond the couple seconds they give you for free. Also, in my experience this camera takes forever to connect to the app so whoever's ringing your doorbell may be standing there for 30 plus seconds without a reply

Be aware that these do not play nice with ubiquity equipment unless you are willing to perform some crazy black magic. There is a long post I was reading where people were trying to figure it out. Since it's easier to switch doorbells than network equipment I swapped out my wyze doorbells and installed reolink Poe doorbells.

My experience with Wyze cameras hasn't been great. They are slow and often lag. Also there's a monthly subscription fee required for each camera. The only positive is that Wyze isn't owned by Amazon.

Which thread is that? I found a Reddit thread, and it seems most of the replies are "I have zero issues"

This one, the goal was to get the wyze cams to be reliable when using them with the wyze bridge which is the only way to get rtsp working with the doorbells. https://github.com/mrlt8/docker-w...ssions/891
