Is this set good for a starter?

I'm a beginner, too, but people tell me this set is a good set for a starter. The summary of various words I've been told is that I'm so bad that the better clubs won't help me any, and these clubs are good enough that they won't give me bad habits.

I bought the graphite regular flex. You can buy different flex and different shaft material.

I would definitely recommend this as a set for a beginner, especially if you know you like the game. The $200 sets with a bag are fine and all, but once you get a little better you'll find yourself wanting to upgrade. At least with these clubs you're already at a solid mid-level set, so you won't be spending more money unless you want to try out the higher end stuff.

This is the regular price. The only real deal here is that it's a great value for the price, the putter alone runs around $120.

I picked up a set back in the spring, I've been playing a few rounds a season for the past 20+ years using the same clubs (more or less) since I was a teenager. This was a great upgrade for me.

Have they improved my game? A little, moving from graphite shaft irons to steel has helped that part. Upgrading from mid 90s driver tech to this has added a bit to my drive, but I still have the same slice!

Mostly agree, but anyone who isn't *positive* that they like golf should definitely look at the super cheap starter sets instead.
I got my fiance one of those a few years ago for like $160. She's really getting into the game with me this year, and I don't anticipate her needing more clubs for quite a bit. Bear in mind for most beginners, all you really need is driver, putter, sw, a couple irons, and maybe a hybrid.

But for anyone that's a high handicap but definitely intends to keep playing, this is certainly oozing value.

I actually ended up getting that set. Outlet condition. Hope to post how it looks! Great deal with the bonus $50 TopGolf gift card!

Also got this set and was too late to cancel so I might compare the 2. But I'm fully expecting them to be the same.

Started 2 months ago with this set. Set is good. As a beginner it doesn't matter. Just make good contact and go straight lol

Snagged the outlet set and GC as well! Should be here Wednesday. My understanding is the 2023 are Blue while 2021 are Gold and the prior are Green but they are all the same. Also read these are rebranded X-hot irons.

I bought this set in the graphite shaft. After about 9 months of play, I noticed splintering near the head on my PW & 9 iron. I'm sure Callaway would have replaced. But, I didn't want to worry about the rest of the set. Returned to Costco for full refund.
