It's worth noting that it's UL 1278-tested and not UL 1278 certified. To be fair, even some mainstream manufacturers skip out on certification but space heaters that fail to protect properly are fire hazards.

I got the oscillating version of this and I like it a lot. I use the WiFi controls to make sure the room my hedgehog is in stays warm enough.

It's Remotely Control via App & Voice. So unfortunately you would use your phone, or Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant, no physical remote control.

I set this up last night. It was easy to set up since my Echo detected it right away and the skill was added. I will say it doesn't get as hot as my previous portable heater. But it was, also, much louder. I like the smart/voice support. It gets warm enough for me. I think it's solid, quieter, and with the smart support, I think it edges out my previous portable heater.
I have this too. Controlling it using Alexa and having automatic thermostat function is the best.

Glad to hear it's quieter than your typical space heater.

How long is the power cord?

Always a weird correlation with age and app use, you'd think for all the 60+ Facebook users that they could use a basic app to control smart home devices.

It's not that we can't use an app to control it, it's that we don't want to have too.

I bought this heater recently and about to return it. I'm using it in a small bedroom and the auto controls are not ideal. When running in auto mode, it either runs on high or off, meaning the air temperature cycles quite a bit during the evening. It's not possible to make it run on low in auto. A slower heater radiator is much better at maintaining heat overnight.

I wonder if there is any real energy efficient space heaters.. All these 1500W takes more than 30 light bulbs energy I believe.
Infrared, way more efficient, but the initial cost is higher

I'm not 60 but I don't carry my phone shoved up my lower body part every second so having a remote (my phone) sitting on the kitchen table when I am in the bedroom kinda defeats the purpose of having a remote. This is the reason I am not a fan of phone remote controls. Believe it or not I can go all day without even tweeting once! 😲
So you want to have individual remotes for everything rather than having a centralized remote (your phone)? Boy am I glad that your gen is retiring out. Not just for that, but also for the other thing you randomly threw in, that you think younger people use twitter...at all. Less than 1% of the population even has an account on twitter and most of it's users skew your age. It's like your gen is too lazy to seek out basic information and thinks they can get away with pulling nonsense out of thin air.

Anyways, this advanced tech just isn't for your people. Off to walmart with you.

ROFL, good try at trolling son. I'll have your mom bring you a sandwich downstairs in a minute. Were you refering to my lazy generation that made the PC that is on the internet that you are using now. Applause

I'm bored so I will answer you question . Yes I would rather have individual remotes for everything located at convienent places. My individual remotes don't
1. spy on me
2. advertise to me
3. need me to log in to use them ( No need to use my thumbprint or type a code like a phone does)
4. I don't need to scroll thoough 47 apps to get to the particular remote I want to use.
5. When I use my individual remote it doesn't need an update and a EULA agreement that wants to view my photos and all of my contacts!
6. I don't have to pair it!
7. Anyone can use it
7. if my internet goes down my individual remote still works!
8. not every single business in the world and every single product in my house needs wifi access.
9. my individual remotes can't be hacked!

Again, pulling nonsense out of thin air. I can't even find a point you've made that's true.

Govee has been around for like 5 years.

"Known brand" laugh out loudlaugh out loud

Try again. laugh out loudlaugh out loud
It's one of the fastest growing electronics companies in the US. Known brand doesnt mean old brand. They're a big company.
Not sure what the point of your link is? That's a different model that is lower end than this one. Does it connect to the Internet and let you control the temp by Google and Alexa?

You can't understand that space heaters are worth no more than $5-8, got it.

Im not sure how the smart heater thing keeps going over your head? The heater you linked to doesnt connect to the internet, this one does. You cannot control the heat setting and power it on and off by your phone or the internet on the heater you linked. You can on this one. Its like telling people not to buy a power drill because a screwdriver costs less.

These also can get paired with one of the Govee temperature sensors for automatic room temperature control. I have one of these set up in basement and Govee remote control placed on the opposite wall. Works great as a whole room heater/thermostat.
