It's worth noting that it's UL 1278-tested and not UL 1278 certified. To be fair, even some mainstream manufacturers skip out on certification but space heaters that fail to protect properly are fire hazards.

I got the oscillating version of this and I like it a lot. I use the WiFi controls to make sure the room my hedgehog is in stays warm enough.

It's Remotely Control via App & Voice. So unfortunately you would use your phone, or Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant, no physical remote control.

Idk if this is a good deal. I do need a space hearter because it gets cold under my desk for some reason.

Govee space heaters could be had for like 10 dollars (oscillating kind in october).. Though they were branded govee not goveelife. So maybe these are the newer models. Reddit post say they have had sucess integrating govee space heaters with home assistant both using an API and using homebrige plugin.

See previous deal I meantion below:

That was a super deal

Can thermostat be controlled on the unit (instead of the app) for elders who don't use apps?
Always a weird correlation with age and app use, you'd think for all the 60+ Facebook users that they could use a basic app to control smart home devices.

"energy efficient" lol
I wonder if there is any real energy efficient space heaters.. All these 1500W takes more than 30 light bulbs energy I believe.

Garbage price. Space heaters have gone for $5 within the last 18 months or so.
I wonder if GoveeLife supporters are praising this. Never seen space heaters this hot on SD. Smilie

Interesting test report from Bay Area Compliance Labs.

It's a good question. We're on propane for heat, stove, and whatever else, and try to keep the general household temp around 66, which means a couple of rooms get pretty chilly. I have a tiny 1500W heater from Walmart (Pelonis I think) and that thing can crank out some serious heat in a very short amount of time. To just take the chill off for 30 mins in a kid's room, I think that's saving me more in the long run than having to run our full house on propane to get particular rooms to temp. If there were another energy efficient option that could do THAT in the short amount of time, I'd be willing to pay more than the $15 for my generic one!

Yeah a bottom of the barrel heater with no digital controls and a dial where you can guess how hot it will make the room. Govee is a known brand and the big selling point is it's a smart heater that can be controlled by wifi.

My Govee outdoor light quality is cheap. Bought 2 sets and didn't even last the entire summer. Waste of money.

I'm not 60 but I don't carry my phone shoved up my lower body part every second so having a remote (my phone) sitting on the kitchen table when I am in the bedroom kinda defeats the purpose of having a remote. This is the reason I am not a fan of phone remote controls. Believe it or not I can go all day without even tweeting once! 😲

I'm too much of a thermostat nazi to let my family have control of a device like this. They'd all have their rooms set to 85F 24/7.
Being a thermostat dictator is the EXACT reason that I'm buying smart space heaters. My kids will 'sneak up' the temperatures on their room heaters every chance they get.
I work nights, and having heater controls on my phone will easily allow rule with an iron fist!

and tell them if they turn it up it could trip the breaker and.or start an electrical fire. then for sure they arent going to have any heat.

Got this for $10 last month and using it as we speak in my office. I love how I can set the timer when I WFH so the office will be warm when I start my day. It's really strong too that I have to take breaks in between cuz it gets too hot.
