Was that the "grape" shaded one? I don't see anything historically lower than this price on these colour sets.
I can imagine a deeper discount for only select shades that are available, but the option to wait until the season ends kind-of kills the purpose of getting this.

We will honor a sale price adjustment if an item goes on sale or clearance within 14 days after the ship date. Just present the original receipt or order number and the difference will be refunded to the original tender.
-As others had said, get this when it's less. When that will be? Don't know. Could be days or weeks. Maybe spring clearance. They drop line ups a lot. They have mainstays that last years like their Guide Pro pants and shorts, but others are seasonal. Sometimes they have seasonal colors...next point.
-If you like something you see and have a common size, check daily for clearance. It could be a sale and clearance, sometimes you can get stuff super cheap when its both, but it doesn't last long. Sometimes that particular line of clothing is dropped forever, sometimes its a seasonal colorway change.
As far as my guess on this jacket, you learn EBs strategy for stuff like this so hear me out.
This is never a 250 dollar jacket. They have higher end stuff like First Ascent, Mountain Ops and BC lines of clothes. Those are in that price range. Some of those are amazing. I have ski pants that are Mountain Ops and it's so durable it makes stuff 6 times their price laughably delicate. Their recently discontinued Mountain Ops winter boots are probably one of the best things I have bought. It's better at being Merrill than Merrill.
-It doesn't have "Super" DWR. Their regular Storm Repel DWR is okay ish.
-Not First Ascent or Mountain Ops.
-650 fill down isn't exactly high end. That means compared to 850 or something you need more fill to match the warmth of 850. Seeing how its not bulky looking and its 650 fill, it's probably not that warm for actual winter weather in cold climates. Probably good in the 30's. Layer for anything colder and activity is low. If that suits you, go for it. If you need warmer, get one that looks bulkier or has a higher fill power. For the woman the EB formula works in their favor. Its fashionable to have full length, puffy jackets right now.
In general. Mountain OPs, warmest, most durable, but not the lightest. First Ascent, for higher activity levels with breathability and range of motion, meant for the alpine hiker demographic. BC, I'm guessing it stands for back country. It's their flagship. Highest rated waterproofing and breathability. It's their version of high end stuff like Mountain Hardwear. EB makes some damn good BC rain jackets that pop in and out of the catalog. the BC ski lineup is meant to compete with Obermeyer and Helly Hansen.
For most people that want a good winter jacket from EB. Get a bulky down jacket or a Mountain Ops insulated jacket. I have a First Ascent synthetic fill jacket that is super warm when you are moving about. But one time I was in Park City waiting for an uber, and I just about froze, all because of activity level was zero. The most important thing is to match activity level.

I am too lazy to check, but EB Outlet has the ridgelines that look super similar to superiors at a more budget friendly price. Outlet also has a couple tall sizes for most items as well.
