No, it a modern take on doom 1 & 2. Stays away from the horror game style of doom 3. Very fast paced game with dark imagery.

Also you can crank the down time difficulty. I found this on a lot easier than follow up doom eternal.

2016 is a lot better than eternal in my opinion. eternal was just too frantic for me, too twitchy. the whole "doom guy lives in a spaceship orbiting earth" felt silly to me as well.

I wish they would have kept this traditional multiplayer style in the Doom Eternal. I had a lot of fun playing the MP on this. Campaign is great too, but the demon ability in multiplayer was really something special imo.

I know this is an action game but are there horror elements or jump scares in it? I would want to stay away if that's the case. I don't play scary games. Also, is it too difficult a game, or can casual players who've played a couple of first person shooters manage it in normal difficulty?

No, it a modern take on doom 1 & 2. Stays away from the horror game style of doom 3. Very fast paced game with dark imagery.

No it's not scary and it's fairly easy. It is easy to get stuck for days so use YouTube
