The issue in my opinion with Jura is that after some time, residue/oils will build up no matter how much you clean/maintain it. Other machines such as the meile allow you to completely disassemble the unit including the "dispenser". The meile won't be as "pretty" but in my opinion and experience; it's a much better unit in the long run.
We ended up using the milk system mostly when we have guests and need multiple drinks fast. Otherwise Nesresso Aerochino foams milk better and is easier to clean.

This machine is by far better in terms of temperature, milk foam, espresso quality along with easy custom configuration. I have presets on what we like by the type of drink. Cleaning is not that hard in comparison with some of the other machines we've had, it's about the same. I use Slickdeals to buy discount filters and tablets, cost of maintenance is probably $70-$80/year, coffee beans from Costco on sale also fairly inexpensive. We save thousands of dollars because we would otherwise spend $20-$30/day on our coffee, plus waiting in line costs time.

Just bought a Phillips 3200 with LatteGo for home at 1/4 the price (BF deal) but haven't opened it yet. It will see light use maybe 3-4 days/week. Has anyone used both? Wondering if I'm going to hate that after using the E8 daily.
I don't care what I'm buying, I will always find out the maintenance costs for proper upkeep. Doesn't matter if it's a $10 product or $100k product. It doesn't mean I can't afford it. It just means I'm a conscientious buyer who asks all the questions.
On other hand, my friends own an older Gaggia model, and it still makes decent espresso after 15 years of intensive use.
Wife spends 2k on starbucks a year give or take. (1 before every 12 hour shift so I am not ever complaining about that)
Due to covered work purchases I go to starbucks far more but spend less than 1k a year. Depending on maintenance I could see it being worth it but it depends.
Other problem is I love Nitro the most. Perhaps when I retire but given I get starbucks for free 3+ days a week (more like 4 with point redemptions earned solely due to work) not gonna switch till then.

You can get parts for these and the long term issues appear to be known and solvable if you have the time and patience. For the two weeks it was down we had a difficult time going back to a drip/pod machine and it was like Christmas when it was working again. Highly recommend for heavy coffee drinkers.
I would say if you're interested look at the cheaper small units first.
