So far we change filter every month, bought cleaning tablets, descaling tablets, milk cleaning mini tablets and new milk tube. All in about $120/yr.

The tablet/cleaning solution isn't that expensive. There's quite a few off brands that work very well and highly rated such as urnex on Amazon.

The issue in my opinion with Jura is that after some time, residue/oils will build up no matter how much you clean/maintain it. Other machines such as the meile allow you to completely disassemble the unit including the "dispenser". The meile won't be as "pretty" but in my opinion and experience; it's a much better unit in the long run.

I bought E8 for $1600 at Costco 2 years ago. Absolutely the best coffee I've ever had. The maintenance cost is negligible. I fill the tank with filtered water instead of using the expensive in tank filter. I use aftermarket cleaning tablets and fluids.
We ended up using the milk system mostly when we have guests and need multiple drinks fast. Otherwise Nesresso Aerochino foams milk better and is easier to clean.

This will probably be a joke post with not so serious answers, but any coffee aficionados have a recommendation on a good top-loader coffee machine that holds beans and will grind for you? We have our breville Nespresso machine which is great for single-cup, and we also use ground coffee in a basic $30 mr. coffee pot, but we would love to do away with the coffee pot and have a nice coffee grinder "nice coffee" machine.

Not sure what these run. Maybe $500 or less for our first one?
The Breville YouBrew is pretty good but they're expensive, even the factory refurbs are expensive now. I picked up a refurbed YouBrew for around $100 and used that for around 10 years before I got a Jura Z6. The Jura makes much better coffee than the Breville YouBrew. If you have the extra money my recommendation would be to get a Jura. If you want to save some money keep an eye out for a nice used one. I found a used Jura Z6 for $600.

In this price range, actually $1,750-1,900 depending on finish, I would consider the Gaggia Accademia over this machine. Seemingly way less maintenance based on this thread and the milk carafe makes things much easier.

I bought this exact machine from Costco last year for $2200 and feel like it's worth every penny. Both my husband and myself drink 4-6 espresso drinks a day and prior to this we had the Jura F8 and Delonghi Magnifica prior to that. Our friends have the Saeco and we've tried theirs too.
This machine is by far better in terms of temperature, milk foam, espresso quality along with easy custom configuration. I have presets on what we like by the type of drink. Cleaning is not that hard in comparison with some of the other machines we've had, it's about the same. I use Slickdeals to buy discount filters and tablets, cost of maintenance is probably $70-$80/year, coffee beans from Costco on sale also fairly inexpensive. We save thousands of dollars because we would otherwise spend $20-$30/day on our coffee, plus waiting in line costs time.

Even if it was, still a good response, as long as nothing nasty. Humor. I could actually picture though someone building a window to show it off though. Lord knows I have a few neighbors that would!

I've heard the Gaggias build quality is lacking. But I agree people in this thread a complaining nonstop about the cleaning and maintenance. We jumped on the Delonghi Dinamica and couldn't be happier. The machine cleans itself and the milk frother is stored in the fridge.

I have an E8 model at work that I've used daily for about a year. Love it. I find cleaning to be a matter of seconds per day, so nbd.

Just bought a Phillips 3200 with LatteGo for home at 1/4 the price (BF deal) but haven't opened it yet. It will see light use maybe 3-4 days/week. Has anyone used both? Wondering if I'm going to hate that after using the E8 daily.

I hate this sort of answer. It's very narrow minded.

I don't care what I'm buying, I will always find out the maintenance costs for proper upkeep. Doesn't matter if it's a $10 product or $100k product. It doesn't mean I can't afford it. It just means I'm a conscientious buyer who asks all the questions.
lol it's actually like " because you're smart enough to consider the total cost of ownership you can afford a $2000 coffee maker"

I tried Gaggia Cadorna Prestige before purchasing Jura E8. The coffee taste was mediocre. I can't explain why. The milk carafe adds convenience, however, it is fairly large and has to be stored in the fridge. Not good when the fridge space is at a premium. That Gaggia turned out an expensive experiment, as I paid a full price at Whole Latte Love, and a restocking fee on top of it.
On other hand, my friends own an older Gaggia model, and it still makes decent espresso after 15 years of intensive use.

How much you need to pay for maintenance each year? Do you need to change parts (filter, brewery compartment) once a while?
If you have RO water you don't need filters (seriously though RO setups save money). Other than that just need to buy cleaning tablets and use them like once a month. Clean the waste tray as needed. Milk cleaning (there's a solution for it) every week if you use it regularly. I've had my Jura E8 for 5 years so far and it's been great, paid for itself in terms of not buying coffee at Starbucks etc…

Is it a lot of work maintaining it? I don't care about the cost. Just whether I have to do physically a lot.
A lot less maintenance than most espresso machines. You can't take out the grinder or the brew group for cleaning at all. The machine is not designed to be disassembled by the owner, they even use proprietary screws on the outside.

If you have to ask then this deal is not for you.
It can help determine if it's worth it. I can tell you Nitro machines are not worth it. You will end with a nightmare scenario and spend more.

Wife spends 2k on starbucks a year give or take. (1 before every 12 hour shift so I am not ever complaining about that)

Due to covered work purchases I go to starbucks far more but spend less than 1k a year. Depending on maintenance I could see it being worth it but it depends.

Other problem is I love Nitro the most. Perhaps when I retire but given I get starbucks for free 3+ days a week (more like 4 with point redemptions earned solely due to work) not gonna switch till then.

I have the 3200 LatteGo. We've been using it daily for a year now. No maintenance so far, it's been working great. The espresso seems to taste better in time (weeks of use), don't adjust it yet. The only adjustment I made was make water temp hotter. No experience with Jura but would also like to know how it compares w/ 3200.

We love our Jura, it recently stopped working after 3 years and through the power of YouTube I was able to pretty thoroughly refurbish/clean. Main issue with ours is that overtime, no matter how much you clean what you can clean, the brew group will inevitably become filthy and covered with grinds.
You can get parts for these and the long term issues appear to be known and solvable if you have the time and patience. For the two weeks it was down we had a difficult time going back to a drip/pod machine and it was like Christmas when it was working again. Highly recommend for heavy coffee drinkers.

I would say if you're interested look at the cheaper small units first.
