The stigma about "refurbished" electronics is really odd, especially if it's not something you'd be able to fix yourself.

If it's an issue with the entire line, the ones sold as new will usually have the same probability of having the same issue.

Wouldn't you rather they take care of it before you buy it, rather than discover it later and have to go through the warranty process?

seems like a decent deal compared to the recent walmart msi deal. i5-13400=i7-12700 and the rtx 3070 is about 20% faster than rtx 4060.

Yes but also need to weigh refurb vs new (why was it refurbished to begin with?), and new gen chipset for upgrading down the road. Tough decisions!

And also, the msi is $82 less.

Don't they have 2 years of warranty for the refurb? The new one is only 1 year. Why would you need to upgrade it down the road?

This is a better deal than last week's [Front Page +22 deal-score] version of the same exact desktop. Beats it by $28 bucks:
https://slickdeals.net/f/17117641-acer-predator-p05-640

To buy all these parts separately, it'd cost around $1150 bucks. So I'm surprised the deal score for this post was only "zero" after 19 hours and 2,500 views. This should be rated higher.

And while this RTX 3070 deal is not as amazing as last week's dead RTX 3080 deal for $900, it's also cheaper by $118 bucks.
And some might not really need to spend that extra $118 even if a 3080 is currently worth ~$220 more than a 3070.
(Not to mention that deal is long gone)

I am looking for a gaming desktop for my 9 year old and bought the iBuyPower i7, 4060 from Costo. Bought the MSI because fellow SDers said that was a better desktop. Now, I am wondering if this is better than the MSI. Any advise from the Sd community will help. Thanks in advance.

Haha, maybe. I am more concerned about the games he might play in the future. I am not at all into gaming, so this is all new to me.
