Looks like T-Mobile is offering a hidden $10 hotspot plan ($15 before Auto pay). This is for consumer and business accounts. It's for BYOD hotspot devices only and connected laptops (so no phones or tablets). Looks like you will have to contact T-Mobile to get this. There will be a $35 activation fee as well. See the attached flyer and link for more info.

Thanks everyone. Got 2 SIM cards from local Costco T-Mob store (Carson Vity NV) yesterday. No activation fee, and took about 10 minutes to add to the existing Magenta family plan with 2 new dedicated lines (except no voice).

BTW - no $25 GC as it has to be a new line including voice but still a good deal as already have $15/month for 40 GB Hotspot plan on 1 line but the use of it burns through the battery quickly.

So we now have 100 GB per month (30 GB x2 plus 40 GB) as Spectrum is still working on pulling cable internet to my house at the edge of new development.

I just added this plan via the Costco T-Mobile line, activation fee waived. Call clocked in at under 10 minutes.

Right now, we do have a promotional offer to waive the $35 DCC (device connection charge)
snippet from my chat to add this to my account.

Did they cross-validate the Costco member name to your name or just needed a valid membership number?
Not entirely sure, but it seemed they were able to view a profile, but I could be wrong. May as well try with any member number you can get...?

Does T-mobile usually grandfather you in or could this plan go away? Seems too good to be true.

Just signed up via T-Mobile chat, no charge for the SIM or activation and asked for the SOC MI30TI (Tax Inclusive) deal so getting a new SIM shipped 2nd day air for free, no activation then only $10 a month, period. Sweet deal, thanks again OP!

I got a smart tv for a senior long time friend and while the local channels are free, I would like to get her on amazon prime or netflix and those need hotspot. Would a T-Mo 5G smartphone be practical or is a wifi device better? So many have dismal reviews. Suggestions most welcome.
Check if the T-Mobile 5g home internet is available. The price is good and in some areas it's amazing. Idk if it'd be cheaper than getting a phone and using a 5g hotspot but it'll likely be more stable.

I've heard people having success by placing the physical SIM in an iPhone 13 then using the iOS capability to transfer the service to eSIM on a newer iPhone.
