Looks like T-Mobile is offering a hidden $10 hotspot plan ($15 before Auto pay). This is for consumer and business accounts. It's for BYOD hotspot devices only and connected laptops (so no phones or tablets). Looks like you will have to contact T-Mobile to get this. There will be a $35 activation fee as well. See the attached flyer and link for more info.

They're assholes.I asked them on twitter about it and they said sure we can add it but that means it is a plan change. And my old sprint plan which is ultra cheap would go away.

It sucks but i refuse to pay them $200more a month for 10 lines then i do now. I just do not understand why i can't just make another plan alone from my main one.

NO, this is unlimited internet throttled after 30 gigs.
$15 a month - $5 autopay discount = $10 a month taxes included.

Anyone can easily tell from a simple IMEI lookup... my guess is they have a database of whitelisted IMEIs from supported hotspots and laptops.
They can via TAC code. Almost certain it would not work in a phone (usually restricted due to 911 requirements that it won't do), but could work in a tablet, maybe a failover router too. Not sure.

Anyone else call and have the rep tell you that they need the Hotspot's IMEI to process this? So annoyed to spend 15 mins on the phone and then have them tell me I can't activate without IMEI.
I did it over the phone via T-Mobile Costco CS (833) 428-1765.

Costco membership account number was required along with SSN and driver license number for verification purposes, and not for credit check.

They did ask for an IMEI of hotspot device to confirm compatibility and avoid issues after activation if you go use it on an incompatible device.

I said I don't have my hot spot device available at the moment, they said OK and left that step blank and proceeded after explaining the compatibility check.

All done in under 20 minutes.

Plan is Unlimited Hot Spot with 30 gigs high speed and throttled afterwards $15 a month - $5 AutoPay discount = $10 with all taxes and fees included.

Edit: added 800 number so other Costco members don't need to scour the thread to find it.

Does having this account give you airplane wifi access? Some T-Mobile accounts have a side benefit of a few in-flight wifi sessions.

I currently have the prepaid plan $10/2gb/mo. I have used the sim with an unlocked phone as hotspot and it worked, except I wouldn't be able to make phone call; but I could use Google Voice without issue.

Is this thread product placement? Just wondering. You can still get unlimited for $25 from at least two MVNO's that I know of. They come with voice and at least 30GB high pri data. No restrictions on the device either. So you can just put the SIM in a phone or a hot spot. This plan seems gimmicky and stuck in 2001. Also many group discounts with perks of you join. TMob is just not competitive anymore.
ok, dont buy
