There is literally only one thing you should want in a trimmer blade. Ground blade (sharpened like a knife) as opposed to stamped blade (pressed from a sheet like a cookie cutter). And this ain't it.
Wahl, for example. Norelco used to have some but I'm not sure they still do. Just search for "ground blade beard trimmer".
What would be an example of a ground blade?

I have the multigroomer 3000, not a good buy IMO.
It has no heft, the on-off slide switch is a pain, very tricky to turn off-on in midst of shaving, the motor is super loud and stronger than what the shell can hold, so it shakes in your hand.

Backup's Backup at best. Avoid it down south.
Appreciate the detailed heads up!

I still have one bought in 2016 running strong w/o any issues. Wished it would die so I can get a new one but dream never came true.
How close can it get? Son wants one for Christmas, he want to use it daily to just keep slight stubble........

Curious how sturdy the plastic guard is?
I have had MANY other trimmers, which all work really well, except the teeth the guard break off (i travel) and now are useless to me as they are non-replaceable.

Would this be good for shaving your neck and hair around your ears? I have trimmed sides and my old Philips is disintegrating so I need something new, but this one posted here looks like this "brush" thing would prevent it from being useful as a hair trimmer. Any thoughts?

Not sure what you mean by brush - are you talking about the guard? For the neck hair/lining up the back of the neck, you can completely remove the guard by pulling up on it. For around the ears, I remove the guard and tilt it and carefully rotate it around the ear to clean it up.

Is there an actual difference in beard trimmers compared to the standard Wahl hair clippers, other than a narrower cutting head?
