Bought a manufacturer refurb on one of the recent deals for $117. The switchover has been a little hit or miss for me so if that's a critical factor in your purchase, I would do some research. I also found the stock fan to be unbearable when the unit was charging and followed an online guide to replace it with a much quieter Noctua. Don't regret the purchase and it's nice to have on hand despite those shortcomings.

30ms switch-over, so it might not work as an UPS, really depends on the tolerance of your router and modem.

Would this be good as a UPS for router and modem? It will be in a semi enclosed cabinet, and I'm worried it might overheat.
I too contemplated on getting one of these to replace the several Cyberpower UPS that I have, which need new batteries every 3-4yrs. There's no warning when those lead acid batteries will crap out. I usually find out when there's an outage and my router goes dead within minutes, which happened just couple months ago.

This particular Ecoflow River 2 would've fit the bill, but I watched a review on Youtube and it failed the UPS test. I have a River 2 Pro which also failed the test, though I haven't tested it for myself as the Pro is for powering my fridge during an outage, not full time UPS duty. The only one in the River lineup that passed the UPS test is the River 2 Max. Lookup videos from Hobotech if you'd like to see.

There's one made by Allpowers model R600 that passed his UPS test. It is similarly sized and priced as the Ecoflow River 2.

What's holding me back though is the fan noise some of these power stations make. Maybe I'll try plugging in my River 2 Pro full time for a few days and see how it goes. The good thing with the Ecoflow is that you can limit the charge to whatever % you want, to help prolong the life of the battery. Not sure if the Allpowers allows that, but even if it doesn't, I expect these LiFePO4 to last way longer than any lead acid batteries.

It would probably work, but you're overpaying if that's all you use it for.
Depends on the use case. A typical pure sine dedicated UPS costs more than these cheap power stations, and the lead acid batteries in them have tiny capacities. I just replaced the batteries in one of my Cyberpower which amounts to 168Wh. What you do give up on in using one of these cheap power stations is output power, so it won't cut it for a typical gaming PC, but is more than good enough for just network equipment.

Wonder how this would do as a power supply in a kayak to power a fish finder and go pro if it was in dry storage

I run all my computer with ecoflow power stations, as a ups during power outage or during socal peaks.
Does it charge AND provide usage at the same time like a UPS?

Wayyyyy over kill really. The draw on the fish finder and go pro is much less. You probably just need something with 10ah -15ah battery to use for a whole day out to fish.

The initial draw for a laser printer will be too much for this to handle.

Why are these always on sale now?
Battery prices are dropping quickly and there's a ton of competition.

That's a really good idea. I need to find fans that will fit the delta 2. I'll do this mod easily. Looks fairly simple to take apart.

I picked this up over the summer, absolutely love it. Used it to run a 23qt bougerv fridge. Almost empties the battery overnight, but a 100w solar panel takes over in the morning, and the battery is full by the time the sun is down. Rinse, repeat.

Why overpaying if used it as UPS? I'm also thinking of buying it as UPS for my modem for home security backup to the cloud.

Bought from last deal refurbished via Ebay. Came with scratches and wouldn't charge over 60%. They didnt want to take it back and refused to exchange it.. Fortunately Ebay authorized a return.

Pretty good price. Got a refurbished one from EcoFlow on eBay. They warranted it as if it was brand new for 5 years, and the 2 year eBay refurb warranty. Used it for camping trip (1 week) to charge phones and smaller battery banks etc. Matched it with a EcoFlow 160w solar panel. I know it's overkill on the panel but the River 2 charged quickly at 110w max. Worked like a charm. I barely spent 30 min at a time driving. I would suggest those that never had a power station, this without be a good start with a good brand.
