If you want the Litter Robot 4, there's a deal at PetSmart as long as you're okay with cash equivalents.
Sign up for a PetSmart account and go to your account page and the Treats & Offers section. Scroll through the offers and you should see one for 40,000 treats points with a Litter Robot purchase. You also get 5599 base points for the purchase, so that works out to $114 in store credit. You get the points once the product ships, but your cart will not reflect the bonus points at checkout.
Popular cash back site has 20% back, and Litter Robot is not excluded (per terms of the site, and personal experience).
Stack with Chase Freedom cards 5% back via Paypal. Brings the effective price down to around $410 pre-tax.
A couple notes: You do not get the 90 day in-home trial if you order from PetSmart (or any 3rd party). PetSmart says they only offer store credit for returns if Paypal was the payment method used, but someone said they called to return it and because it was drop-shipped and not directly from PetSmart, they got free return shipping and a full Paypal refund. YMMV.
I wonder if this falls under the Costco lifetime policy.

Cats can be finicky...most of mine were curious and went right in and never had issues so it depends.
You can buy the $100 3 year warranty directly from Whisker even if you buy the machine itself from a 3rd party. Do note that the 3 year warranty is 3 years total, not 1 year (original) + 3 years. But since only year 1 is factory warranty, your credit card warranty won't cover a 4th year, so it's really only 1 extra year for $100 -- though dealing directly with Whisker is likely easier than your credit card.
If you have a choice, dont get black. It looks disgusting within minutes of plugging it in.

My advice: Switch to wood litter and never look back. Clay litter ruins vacuums and gets tracked all over the house.
Ideally, Pine Bedding designed for horse bedding, you can get it at a Tractor Supply. It is very cheap.
If your cat is older and doesn't like the texture of Pine Pellets, then Okocat Original or Super Soft.
We have two cats, a larger male and average size female. The tray requires emptying about once per week.
It's a pain in the butt to clean thoroughly. We do very deep cleans about twice a year (everything apart, soaking with enzyme cleaners). Spot cleaning of it/specific parts more frequently as needed.
It does a good job of masking odors 9-10 months of the year. When it gets warmer it gets noticeable and requires more attention; but to be fair we don't have it in a zone that gets cooled as much as other parts of the house. Keep this in mind when you choose where to place it and what temps you keep your house at.
For us, it only slightly limits litter tracking. Our cats have long hair and tufts, so litter gets stuck sometimes. They also don't use the steps to the LR, they jolt out of it. We have an old rug under it and an old vacuum we use to clean the vicinity.
Overall I would recommend it, it's worth the time savings and ease of emptying.

There are many threads and vids out there on trouble shooting out there for various issues but for the price of these, they aren't reliable. Some of the design choices of the sensors almost make it seem like it's done on purpose.
