YMMV since this is clearly a targeted offer.

Especially with the 10% off offer still valid on the Quest 2 as of a few seconds ago. I only got the Quest 3 since I was able to get 10% off via talking with customer support in the app, paying almost nothing out-of-pocket thanks to Microsoft Rewards, and upgrading from the Quest 1. If I had the Quest 2, I almost certainly wouldn't have upgraded.
If you're on the fence, you're better off getting the Quest 2 now while it's on sale and using the savings to get the Quest 4 or whatever new headset down the road. The Quest 2 will likely still be supported for a while, especially since they're still selling it. While the AR/MR on the Quest 3 is good, especially for the price point, it'll only get better in the future with software updates and new headsets.
Also, some Best Buy host free demos of the Quest 3 on the weekends. It might be worth checking out and seeing if having AR/MR is worth the 2x price.

Also, you are able to not have to take off the headset and see your surroundings via double tapping the side of the headset. On the Quest 2, it's black and white, on the Quest 3, it's in colour, less laggy, and has depth factored in thanks to the sensors on the front.
I already bought it from Amazon for $250 with a $50 Amazon gift certificate (that expires in 2 months but we'll spend it). I plan to use it for gamepass streaming as well as now steam vr works with Meta so you don't have to use virtual desktop or whatever it was called. I really want to get Half-Life Alyx and to not have to be chained to my PC would be great. Sounds like connecting through virtual desktop was a burden on your system as well, so that's nice to connect directly.
The only game I expect to have on my quest I already bought and that's beat saber, I need to learn how to load custom songs on it. Maybe some sort of workout regiment if I can find one that's not a subscription.
I'm aware Best Buy has that demo, last time we were there I was in line and my daughter wanted to try, so I let her go first, then my son wanted to try so I let him go before me but the other guest we brought was whining to go so I thought I would come back after and it didn't happen. They just did some VR demos but absolutely loved it.
My biggest concern with the Quest 2 is everything I am looking at no longer supports the Quest 1, so was the Quest 1 really that inferior that gamepass, steam link, and all these games I see don't work, or was it merely a timed thing? Like, it's officially X years old so support is dropped. More than AR or anything else, that's why I would want a 3
Picked up a Quest Pro on FB for $350. Honestly, I know Meta 3 is better, but I don't think it's worth jumping through all these hoops for something I play once a month.
Quest Pro is pretty cool. Great upgrade from the Quest 2.
what did you say exactly? I've chatted 4 times so far and shut down every time. they all basically say the following:
"Thanks for that information. When an item qualifies for a Target circle offer it automatically applies at the time of check out. If it does not apply then the item does not qualify for the circle offer.
And if it does not qualify we cannot manually apply it"

They pulled the plug on the new registry codes some time ago . The ones that still work are those from before … dunno when target fixed it but if you got one very recently it will no longer work. You can chat with them explain …etc and they will most likely give u some $30-40 max discount for "your inconvenience"
I dunno what 15% u got but folks have reported these codes not working days ago . Was it the baby or the wedding ? And u sure it was the registry (does it say registry on the invoice) and not some targeted coupon? Either way good for you but I don't think that newer registry codes work just looking at the registry deal thread
this is what it says on my order
15% off Wedding Registry
-$75.00
