Total value is $65, bought for $50 (or more)
50/65 = 0.769 or 23% discount (best possible)

If you were never going to buy from Amazon again, the discount is effectively 0 because the credit is no use to you. 23% discount is the correct calculation if you will actually use up all the credits. You pay $50 out of pocket and in the end you get $65 worth of products so the discount is (1 - $50 / $65) * 100% = 23.08%.

I bought the Finish Powerball Quantum Dishwasher Detergent Tabs, 100-count for $15 from Costco.
This is not slick comparted to that.

You just end up spending close to $50 and end up with way more dishwashing tabs than you need.

It was better when Amazon used to give you a straight $15 instant discount on $50 purchased to match Target's $15 GC when you spend $50 deal. I hope this isn't a new trend for Amazon. These $15 promotional credits expire in a few months if you forget about it and are an occasional shopper. Target GCs don't expire. Obviously, instant savings are best, but if Amazon is going to try to match Target, they should at least give you an Amazon GC that never expires.

Amazon getting sneaky with these future "Promo Credits", making you think you're getting a better deal than you actually are. At first glance it seems like you're getting a 30% discount, in reality it's only 23%. Also I believe the credits have an expiration date of 1 month.
