Video Game Esoterica on YT just did a review of this game today. Check it out if you want to hear if it's any good…TLDR not so great if you have memories of it in the arcade.
House of the Dead: Overkill is my favorite. Developed by an Aussie studio as a Grindhouse tribute. Whole game looks like it's on old faded film stock. Set a Guinness record for most F-words in a video game at time of releases. Stunningly sleazy.

I agree. It's one of the few reasons I boot up my ps3
Could I use this and a Wii remote to play this game?

Check out Retroshooter. It comes w 4 IR sensors. It's about as good as Gun4IR which is hugely overpriced.
Wow, thanks for this. I have never heard of Retroshooter, but am glad there's another lightgun you can buy aside from Sinden and Gun4IR. I backed the Sinden a long time ago and was disappointed with the Sinden not working that well. It was also a pain to calibrate too. Meanwhile, the Gun4IR is ridiculous at $400 at RPEG Electronics unless you build one yourself.
If they are going to remake this classic they should make sure to invest in the "gun" that is necessary to play rail shooters. It makes no sense! What happened to rail shooters? WIsh they updated the Wii concept to PC using two light sources as relative position. I'll take that anyday.
Shooters still exist in nations that have arcades. Like the mall in Mexico city that has Imax theater. They had some awesome stuff. Several modern shooters with not quite the highest end gfx but things I never seen by the time arcades were shut down in USA. Japan still has arcades with modern games too. Most the modern ones are sit down in a darkened booth as well. Some have steering wheels alongside guns iirc. The only one I can remember by name was jurrasic park.
BTW there is now VR rooms in some citites (like mine) where you go in a large room with 4 people an umm... Try not to kill each other with your gear. An i think it's all shooters.. Gonna have to shell out some bucks for that

Yeah, it is also quite expensive for what it is though, those guns look just like the $3 aliexpress NES and PS controllers they come with, for $310 for the mid grade option that isn't inexpensive either, and if one of those guns break, how much is a replacement? I don't see that anywhere. Hey, it could be top notch craftsmanship as well but I doubt it...
edit: guns look pretty good, still pricy for what it is but it makes sense, it is a niche product and someone who really wants to play these games will gladly pay:

Yeah. I was casually searching for something else other than the iffy Sindens and super overpriced Gun4IRs. The package I got was solid. I just ordered the new pair that comes with a hub for PC connection. It was about 230 I think incl shipping.
The 4 sensors should make it more accurate. 2 sensors were good but not perfect.

How's the accuracy so far? Do you experience any lost of calibration like the Wii motes or PS Move wands?
Shipping has always been 50 bucks for DHL international. I got in on the BF special for pc hub/ 2 guns/ 4 sensors/ 2 foot pedals for 180. Paid around 235 with tax.
I just checked and sale ended. Now it's 278. If you can wait until Christmas they may have another sale. Or New Years. Chinese New Years. Or some holiday next year but you get my drift. GL brother!
Edit:
Get the Retroshooter Pro for $311.94 incl PC hub and shipping.
That price is still very much the same. That's your best bet. Calibration was pretty good. Heads above what Sinden offered with the calibration issues and crosshair jumping all over the place. With the additional pair of sensors it should be near perfect.
So unless they screwed their business up somehow 2+2 sensors it should be really great. But I haven't received the 2nd set yet.

I wonder if you could play this in vr if you stream the game in desktop mode and use one of the quest controllers to shoot since it registers as your pc mouse?

They usually have a sale around the holidays? That would be great, I don't want to wait until next year's Black Friday.
This is good to know. I just want to be able to play light gun games again without the calibration issues of something like the Sinden lightgun (wasn't a fan of those white borders either).
