Imagine being a person who clicks on a deal for a $3000 tv just to try to shame people. That person must really be having a bad day.

These gallery mount TVs will need at LEAST two people — preferably three — to hang them. The lack of visibility behind the TV as you're trying to mount it makes it REALLY hard to guide them in. I recommend using some sort of sticker on the walls straight up from where the mount holes are… and then pieces of tape on the back of the TV straight up from where the pegs are… and then have somebody direct the two people who are trying to hang it.

the mount literally comes with tape to mark the position to where. to line up the mounting guides.

I bought an open box one (technically a GX) that didn't come with it.

And tape or no tape, it's a dramatically more challenging experience than hanging a 77" C Series. With that, you can use a standard wall mount... put the bracket on the back... and then hang the TV on the rail (or whatever type of device is mounted to the wall).

The wall mount I used for my CX (or C1???) was a full width rail so I could almost do it blindfolded. It took about three minutes to hang it vs. the headache that was the G series.

I have this TV. I got during BF sales from Costco. I believe I paid $3249, and also got a free LG stand ($200 retail value) and a $100 streaming credit. I'm sure Costco will have it on sale again in the next few weeks (because that's what Costco does) if you are more comfortable buying from them over buydig.

As for the TV itself it's a pretty significant improvement over the Sony A90J it replaced, having the ability to get much brighter. MLA technology also improves color saturation a bit compared to traditional WOLED, but still not to the level of QDOLED. However, the G3 series is significantly cheaper than the Sony A95L and I've had too many issues with Samsung electronics to go the 90C/95C route.

One other thing to note: this comes with a 5 year panel warranty, though you cover labor after the first year. LG has implied the warranty covers burn-in if it's from normal usage.

You know the G3 mounts have tape that come with them for that exact purpose right? Saying that as someone that mounted my own 65in G3 with my girlfriend for my room a few days ago. It was a lot easier than it looks and the tape was pretty helpful. We also mounted a 77in B3 (with an existing mount that I just transferred it over to) with relative ease. I thought 77 inches would be scarier considering how skittish she is helping me mount any TVs lol, but it was just a little heavier for her.

This TV should hopefully go on sale more as we approach the CES announcement in January.

The LG G3 is most often compared to the Sony A95L (~$1000 more expensive) and the Samsung S95C.

The Samsung S90C is more often compared to the LG C3. This unit, the LG G3 blows the S90C out of the water in every way. The G3 has an MLA panel which can get very bright, brightness is the main gripe against the LG C3. In my opinion this unit is better than the S95C as well, LG OLEDs include DolbyVision while Samsungs do not. This G3 is a phenomenal unit, especially at this price.
Stop fanboying. The Sony and Samsungs are far closer as they use the same QD panels. The LG uses a different panel built on different tech (WOLed)

The LG panel is technically not as good at color representation but in day to day usage they all look amazing. The LG may be better when used as a non-gaming monitor since TrueType works with its pixel layout. The LG panel may also be less prone to burn-in

Asked and answered above. The 77" G Series I bought was open box and didn't come with the tape. If nothing else, it was an FYI for those who have never mounted these before that it's not as easy as your standard wall mount not only due to the design of the mount but the lack of visiblity. And a 77" G series is a LOT harder to mount than a 77" B series (due to mount differences) or 65" G series (my wingspan is such that I can lift a 65" TV by myself -- so the other person could just eyeball and guide).

As noted in my post above, I mounted a 77" C series without breaking a sweat -- attached the hooks style mount to the back of the TV. Lifted the TV up and hung it on a super wide rail wall mount.

It was a PITA hanging my 77" G series because we spent so much time trying to guide things in while trying to peek behind the TV (which only tells you up and down, not left to right; while the tape only tells you left to right, not up and down). I had my A/V receiver stack and speakers below the TV which made things extra hairy.

The S90C $2000 deal for EPP/EDU/AAA is the best 77" deal around. I didn't pull the trigger on it simply because there are a lot of reported issues on the S95B. No idea if Samsung has sorted those out on the gen 2 QD-OLED models, but I wasn't interested in finding out.

I have to disagree with the s90c being compared to the C3, with the major caveat that you are getting an s90c with the Q Oled second gen panel, which all 77" have.

I do agree that the LG wins in upscaling, reliability, and obviously having Dolby HDR is a plus.

Honestly my wife and I put up our 77" G1 it was one of the easiest TV's I've put up for the size.
