Daily deep cleaning is unnecessary, but once you have the process down it should take less than 10 minutes including popping out the gaskets to give a thorough swabbing (add 10 minutes if you want to do an optional vinegar soak after scrubbing off any residue). If you only keep drinking water in the bottle, keep the openings lidded when not in use, and don't do any intentional backwashing, you can use the bottle continuously (without ever emptying the bottle) for maybe 4-6 weeks between deep cleaning.

While optional, you can do shorter cleans in between by emptying the bottle, putting in a little soapy water and swishing it around (or use a bottle brush to give a quick inside scrub), and do a quick sponge wash around the screw threads on all lids, takes less than a couple minutes. Rinse and if you can, dry it (a second bottle helps for rotation).

The main issue with metal bottles is the (removable gasket) and lid threads (both sides). The gaskets because moisture can get trapped where the gasket seats, so there's a whole hidden side that can grow mildew, and you have to pop the gasket out to clean there. The lid threads, particularly at the drinking spout, because it's right next to where people touch their lips to drink so microbes collect most easily there.

You can pop the gaskets out with a couple quick taps of the lid onto a padded hard surface, or you can use a toothpick or similar to pry them out. Then use a brush or swab with soapy water to scrub out where the gasket sits, and around any lid screw threads (both sides), as well as cleaning the gasket itself. If you're going to soak with vinegar (10 minutes is enough), you should pop the gaskets out as well since you'll want to remove residue/mildew first anyway.

You don't need to fit your hand in the bottle, the inside of the bottle is pretty low on the list of mildew risk (much lower compared to the gasket areas and screw threading for the lids). You should still get a bottle brush/sponge that can reach all over the inside of the bottle though.

How is this compared to this:

I like the screw on caps compared to flip up straw styles because screw on caps keep dirt out of the part you drink from.

I was also looking for the empty weights of these, I want to get 2, one for each kid but are these heavy, their backpacks are already unnecessarily heavy!

If I knew they won't destroy them, I would get them zojirushi's, they are by far the best, especially SV-G2E50, it's a smaller capacity but every single bottle I owned starts smelling funky before end of the week with daily use, SV-G2E50 has some kind of way to keep the funk out, I think it's because there is no backwash with their push button design.
What is the Costco price in-store?

we have the 24oz one. my kid has used it as daily use water bottle. can say this has survived the abuse with a few dents at the bottom but still keeps things cool/hot. I feel the design is perfect. No plastic part has broken.

I bought this November 12 on Amazon for $16.79 from a Slickdeals thread and received it November 25. For some reason they shipped two in the box. I only ordered one so I don't understand this. I noticed some of the reviews reported the same. Great deal on two bottles if that continues.

Better than Hydroflask? I got their 32oz water bottle. Wondering if I should get this and return the Hydroflask?

This is THE best water bottle I have used. Every single member in my family has one. Very sturdy and well thought designs. Bought another one for backup.

Is the 32oz skinny enough to fit in a cup holder in the car?

I just measured for you. The diameter is 3-3/8th inch.

Found this deal on my own a few weeks ago. These are my favorite bottles and Camelbak's best lid, imo. Be warned, I ordered mine 2 weeks ago and it still has a delivery date of mid December. Amazon keeps adjusting the delivery date back, so don't expect to have the usual quick deliver Amazon is known for. YMMV

Same. They make 12 oz versions that I bought for the kids. We threw away all our other bottles and have accumulated multiple colors of these through various deals, and tons of the mag lids.

Lucky. I found it on Nov. 18th and my delivery keeps getting pushed back. Right now it's scheduled for December 24th, but I figure it will continue to be pushed back unto January.

Maybe mine got pushed back because their inventory got demolished when they sent out multiples to so many people.

Do you wash them daily? Also, can you fit a large hand inside any of the one's you know about? I hear you have to wash them daily to keep them nice and fresh, but I need one I can fit hand inside. I've heard about vinegar and rice shakes or something, but that just seems like too much work for me.
They sell brushes to clean it with ease why do you need to fit your hand inside lol

Both me and my wife have this and we like it. But my kids like Hydro Flask, I think it's more for the name, but both are quality products.

The grab handle on the bottles in your link look like they will brake if it drop the bottle and it hits any part of the handle…. like I have experienced with other brands.

The torque is to great for the small plastic handle piece at the hinge, it snaps with very little pressure at the side of the handle.

The handle is great the thin plastic that hold the cap isn't. That will break before the handle

I have this water bottle and love it! Keeps things cold for 10+ hours. For people asking about cupholders, I have a Lexus and it doesn't fit in mine but I love the magnetic lid and the handle. Never had issues with it, In for another.
