Got this camera through Canon last week for $3,399 with L lens. Just called them to adjust the price ($3,099) and they did it with no issues. Going to take 6 weeks for the refund but at least they did it.
I missed the Canon refurb deals (was looking at 90d with 18-135 for $799 or R7 with rf 18-150 for $1199), all of the full frame deals with body features that I wanted were well out of my budget, at least from Canon and Sony, and the Panasonic S5 II deals were much better this year (from what I have seen), and it seems a lot of people put the S5 II in the same league features/performance wise as the R6 mk II or the Sony A7 III or IV, depending on use case.

Up till now I wasn't really interested in full frame given in addition to the prices of the full featured bodies, the EF/RF lenses are typically out of my budget, especially when looking for reach. Crop sensor and EF-S seems to be much more budget friendly, especially when looking for long reach, so over time I have been picking up either EF or EF-S when there is a deal, so that is the mix of glass that I own (all cheap and old stuff though). I figured I was stuck with Canon and would just need to save more towards the R7,, which looks like a badass crop sensor camera... with it's biggest limitation as with all crop sensor cameras being low light usage I think.

After seeing that people are having pretty good experiences with the Sigma MC-21 EF->L Mount adapter to use EF/EF-S lenses on the S5 II, including functioning electronics, autosetting APS-C mode, autofocus, IS sync, etc... I spontaneously jumped on the S5 II with seemingly popular 20-60mm kit lenses for $1685 (which with tax was $1802) which left just enough budget room to pick up that Sigma EF to L mount adapter to see for myself. I normally do a lot more research, but after missing out on the Canon refurb deals because I was researching... I jumped since there was only one of the S5 IIs at that price.

This R6 mkII deal is obv more expensive... the nonL $2300 kit deal specifically has me wondering...

Anyone looking at this deal that has an S5 II already, and for some reason is looking to replace it with this R6 mkII? I have been researching ever since placing that order, and so far a lot of people seem happy with all of the improvements of the S5 II over the original S5, with many replacing Canon and Sony systems with it, at least as a secondary... but I dunno if I am just getting sucked into youtube hype or if the S5 II is really comparable, or if I should sell some plasma or something to stretch my budget to this R6 mkII.

This is for hybrid / all around use BTW as a hobbyist, both video and photography, including family activities ; portrait kind of stuff, landscapes, product pics, run and gun video, some low light stuff, basically looking for one cam that is good enough for most common use cases, and will last me several years.

Looks like the price remains the same if you select accessories kit option.

IMHO, stick with 90D and the original lenses you already have. For the purposes you mentioned, the 90D is plenty and some more. Granted, the refurb one's are not in stock currently but check back regularly. Subscribe to get notified once the item gets back in stock. I am getting notified from canon for the items that are getting back in stock and i ordered a 50mm refurb prime lens a couple of days back.

Yeah, I setup notifications for several of the Canon refurb bundles I missed back when the previous BF post went up, where my #1 was the $799 90D & 18-135 bundle, I am really sad I missed that. I have also been checking multiple times a day, and where it showed out of stock, but it still showed the discount to $799. Then a day or two ago the prices all changed, the prices for in stock stuff went up as the discounts decreased, and at least for the OOS stuff I was watching, the discounts appeared altogether :/.

I wasn't sure how often the 90D bundle gets $799 with the upgraded lens, but it doesn't seem to be often if at all from the previous posts I can find (none Big Grin). If I am gonna spend the $1279 for that bundle... then a few hundred more to get into FF mirrorless seems worth it to me, but I am not sure Big Grin. I think once I get the S5 II and try my EFs on it... then I will have a better idea if this choice is gonna be more trouble that it is worth.

I have never had a Panny camera, but have heard good things off and on over the years, so at least I will have some first hand experience for at least a few weeks.

Does canon do price adjustment? I had gotten a 20% loyalty off when the bundle was 3399 with f4 24-105 lens 14 days ago.

Same prices at Amazon and Best Buy for what it's worth. Marked as "limited time deal" at Amazon, so I'd jump on it if you're interested.

If it's more than 14 days ago they don't price match it seems even if it's within extended holiday return period. I just got off the call with their sales team, instead they initiated RMA and placed a new order with using the same loyalty program
