Was about to pull the trigger, but it seems like the main complaint here is if it rains, that front area gets pretty flooded.

Keeping rain out is my priority and why it's so hard to find a decent larger tent with a good fly.

Ahhhh I can see that as it doesn't have it's own rain fly. I decided to get a 8 person Kelty tent and works GREAT in rain and elements!

Darn, was excited to see this until I read about the flooding. Hoping another darkroom one without that patio will be on sale!

The instant tent from Ozarks is pretty good in my view. They have them at Costco and at Walmart too. 10 person and 14 person. They worked great in rain last year for me. It was completely dry inside with rain pouring outside.

As far as i know, Ozarks are married to Walmart. Haven't seen one with Costco yet, but its an infidel world

I had the 6m version, and it's a great tent! I don't know how you could make the porch flood unless you set the tent door facing up a hill, but clearly, there are smooth brains here who would do that. This thing is great for festivals where you're going to need some extra sleep the next morning due to the night festivities, or even people who camp to stargaze the night away. Even in direct sunlight, it's pretty dark inside.

I have the 4 person version of this tent. The dark room feature is great; the "porch" is good as a mosquito airlock. Ventilation is only so-so. I haven't used it in the rain, but I can definitely see how the front would catch a lot of water. The mesh area for draining really doesn't seem sufficient.

In general and if rain is a concern, I prefer European tent designs such as from Outwell https://www.outwell.com/en-gb/ecommerce/tents You can get some models also on Amazon. Another option might be from Decathlon https://www.decathlon.com/collect...4-6-person
