Not worth the hassle. These virtual cards from this retailer are not accepted in 95% of sites. I had a helluva time liquidating them last time and I do manufacturered spending as a side job

its slick if you know how to hack it with other deals like paypal/chase freedom for additional 5% + 1% - 2% CB on extensions !! .... no place will give you a 9% discount espcially for a mastercard you can use for your utilities atleast here in GA.
What CB extension works for this?

Caution. If you buy this with the intention of using it to buy other gift cards, you can't. Giftcards.com MC/Visa gift cards cannot be used to buy any other gift cards.
Can VISA gift cards be used to purchase these?

its a good way to burn through chase 5% PayPal promo if you didn't already have a plan to spend $1500 on PayPal purchases.
Is it 5% as long as the vendor takes Paypal payment? I want to pay my real estate tax. They have Paypal option but there is 2% surcharge. So I'm coming out 3% ahead regardless.

If the Visa gift card is from giftcards.com, then no. Any other Visa/MC/Amex gcs will depend on the issuer. I had a $100 Vanilla Visa virtual gc. I used it to buy a Visa gc from giftcards.com with this same deal. Then, I had trouble using it to buy other gift cards & couldn't add it to Google Wallet. Could add to PayPal, but still couldn't buy any gcs. I called CS and was told I can't use it to buy any other gcs.

Then I tried using it to buy things. But amount was over $100. It didn't go thru, so I tried to buy something including tax for less than $100. It didn't go thru either since all merchants hold a certain percentage over the amount. I ended up just load even amount to my SB & my Amazon egift card.

Not worth the hassle just to get an additional $5 buying a giftcard from giftcards.com. I will never buy from them ever again.

You can add these gift cards to PayPal and use it for payments anywhere PayPal is accepted. I did this for Visa cards bought from this site
PayPal an ebay have scammy a long time. Last time I left money in there they let some ebayer or some scammer charge me an wouldn't refund the money. Made sure to unlink my bank account an never keep money there after. Not to mention the many hours it may take to get to someone who speaks English an/or can understand English which I had dealt with many times before. It's bigger than too big to fail; the politicians don't even know the internet exists so they can scam you in ways real banks can't. . No doubt elon musk started that scam.

I spent 2010-2020 doing all sorts of stuff like saving up cashback an rebates an stuff (an even last month giant eagle didn't print my rebate an i didn't cash a check fast enough from one place). I'm pretty sure I netted a loss from everywhere when I had to pick up an leave ; got locked out a very long standing Yahoo account etc. That's not even factoring in the time to do these things which is way more valuable than $4 if you make decent money. As someone mentioned here. Where to use them? Im sure I had plenty of items with $4 left on them that I lost or by year 1-2 started charging a 2$ fee each month

As someone who used to burn thru lots of Amex and visa GCs back in the day, these virtual ones are very limited in their usage. The only place where they would make sense is for utilities (electricity, water, gas) that take credit cards. Everything else, including internet bills, have at least 3-5% CB. If interest rate was low, maybe it's worth it to hold some, but with current high interest it no longer make sense to churn these.

Just to share my own experience about cashback from giftcards.com:
Citi Merchant offers: Did it twice, Both times nothing showed up. Had to call Citi customer services and the CSR did not understand anything about Citi Merchant Offers.
CapitalOne.com while paying with Capital One credit card: Did it twice. Both times received email confirmation in a few days and received statement credit both times after 8 weeks.
CapitalOneShopping.com while paying with any credit card: Did it twice including 2 days ago. Both times my cashback showed up in pending status after 2 days.
T**C***Back.com: Did it once. My cashback showed up in pending status the next day.

Can this be used for discreet purchases? It's asking for the recipient's name.

I've never gotten any cash back from Citi Merchant giftcards.com offers. For a while, I was activating the offer and then it would quickly disappear. Then I was getting an error message when trying to activate the offer. Now the offer seems to be completely gone.
