I'm an existing spectrum (home internet) customer and any such promos for me are long gone.
Can I simply cancel my service and then sign up as a new customer using my wife's name and contact info to get this deal?
or does the service at our address actually need to cease for 30 days regardless of the name used?

Yes, you can do that. To make sure that you get new customer offers, tell them that you're moving to a new address and ask for disconnection.
Then, call from your wife's number and tell that you're moving in and take the new connection in your wife's name
One of my friends did that.
Even though it's stable, it has horrible upload speeds, usually 10Mbps max, and up to 35Mbps for the upper plans. This is not usable for multiple video calls or uploading videos to the cloud.
Obviously this is location dependent. I only have 300mbps for $49.99 for 12 months at mine.
And unfortunately they are our only internet option. I can't even get wireless internet like VZW or TMO.
Same here. I actually had to pay a small fortune just to get spectrum to run service to our house just for the privilege of paying ~$140/mo for 1gig after the introductory rate. No alternative options around except for starlink (which is $120/mo now plus a significant upfront cost for the hardware).

terrible upload.. also when I was on spectrum, they throttled pretty bad. one time I was dl a bunch of games off xbox game pass.. after a while my internet speeds "dropped" for some reason.. hmm.. but speedtest showed I was getting my "full speeds." could barely play utube at 360p. any time I started to utilize the speeds I pay for... shortly after my speeds get throttled... it's very obvious.
spectrum doesn't like when you fully utilize the speeds you pay for.. to each their own tho.. gl.
When I confirm my installation address it shows an even lower price… $39.99 for 2 years and $100 Visa card. Excellent deal for my parents to switch away from ATT.

I have 500Mbps. If I connect directly to the cable modem, I get close to that speed. But if I take the same cable and connect it to a router, all ethernet connection behind the router is rarely above 300Mbps. The router is a fairly recent wifi 6 router with cat6 wires. I do fine with 300Mbps but just curious. Any idea why?
Not valid for existing customers. Either that, or lack of fiber at my address disqualifies me.
I'm customer of Spectrum. In the last three years, anytime my 12 months promotion plan is expired. I call them to stop service, they transfer me to Retention dept. They offer me the new promotion plan.
12/2020: 300mb $49 ; 12/2021: 500mb $49 ; 12/22: 500mb & free 1 mobile line $49 ; 12 this year: 300 mb / 1gb & free 1 mobile line $49/$69.

Same! I don't understands these people complaining about rates going up because it's just one call away. Also Spectrum reps don't know if you can or cannot get 5G service from another company for home Internet...

I'm paying $49.99/month (no additional taxes and fees) for 10 Gbps fiber, but if I can get 50 times that for the same price, that'd be amazing.
Thanks for sharing anyway, even with the very minor typo,
Tofu Vic
