It's not. Seems like a good company that I want to keep selling me 4K UHDs for < $10

What does this mean? The quality is super important, and actually, these movies shot on at least 35mm will, if scanned and transfered properly, have an equivalent resolution higher than 4k. The only issue is when the transfer is poor. Like Casino Royale which was shot on film, has a shitty 4k Blu-ray because they were too lazy to make a 4k transfer, so it's just using the 2k intermediary.
You watch the 4k UHD rescan of the 1962 film "To Kill a Mockingbird" on a capable TV, then tell me how resolution doesn't matter. That rescanned movie (as just 1 example) shows incredible detail which is lost on lower resolutions.
Clearly, he doesn't know how it works. Unfortunately this always gets misleading/confusing.
What/how a movie was shot in isn't the biggest deciding factor in PQ, how well the movie is transferred does.
It's not, please don't. $10 is still a very good price for these. I paid a bit more than that and I'm still satisfied for what I paid for them. Let's not punish these companies with added expenses when they offer us movies at often unbeatable prices.
I agree about not trying to nickel and dime these companies that do us right. We, as physical media collectors, probably have a limited future as it is. Let's not accelerate the process by being ingrates.
