This is exactly what I just did with a 7800 XT. Saved my $75 and then turned around and paid it off two days later with no interest accrued.

You could just as easily learn some delayed gratification, save up the amount that you'd pay each month, and buy when you have saved the full amount. Paying interest, especially at usurious rates, is never a slick deal.

Please DO NOT USE Affirm. It's a Buy Now Pay Later option but instead of a credit card interest charge, the rate can be nearly 30%!

You'll pay more in interest than you're saving on the price of this card.

GIGABYTE WINDFORCE GeForce RTX 4070 12GB GDDR6X PCI Express 4.0 x16 ATX Video Card GV-N4070WF3OC-12GD

$475+Tax.
I live in high tax state so it's a lot higher. But this is likely the lowest it has been.

I just got the same thing.

For comparable performance on the AMD side (compared to the 4070), I think the 6800 XT and 7800 XT are still available, and better values.

I just went with Nvidia because the 40 series is more energy efficient, which reduces the cost over the long run if electricity is expensive where you live, and of course generates less heat. I also want to try out the card for machine learning / AI, and AMD is pretty far behind on that.

BTW the Gigabyte card is better than the MSI and Zotac options around the same price.​

This card pooped out on me right after 2 years. Granted I did buy it off eBay new during the times it was impossible to buy a card so the RMA prolly wouldn't have worked if I was under warranty, it does suck that it just randomly died and took no power. Never had a card just do that to me before

This is the correct way to use credit cards unless you're using it due to a financial emergency where you don't have the money to spend! Probably shouldn't be buying a new GPU if you can't afford it.
