I found this hack and feel slick deals was missing this because… this is a slick deal i found. You buy the 1/2 impact with friction ring as a free tool on the paddle grinder. Then you can return the paddle grinder (hack it) for that price on the tool.

Have a slick day. Please share this deal as I wish I saw it sooner.

…250ftlbs seems kinda lame for an M18 Fuel, no? The tiny M12 stubby has that much, for less money.

I don't see the grinder as an option just kits which make it $149 after hack.

I don't know about the numbers but this thing is a beast. No impact gun i have ever owned has even come close. In the wrong hands this will break every stud or strip them. I know because that is what my neighbor did to my boat trailer.

This is for specific type of work, top of motor for example. The m12 is as powerful but thats a different set of batteries, so diff eco system. Also some M18 batteries last longer than M12.

Torque Test Channel has a video on how much torque is required for different jobs. Sometimes you don't need all the unga bungas, or beans, and just want a lighter weight tool.

Never mind this is not the gun I have.
The one I have is this one and would be $219 after hack

This is virtually identical to the m12 fuel stubby just with a bigger battery. I have this, and it's awesome. Much lighter and smaller than the mid torque and high torque. It has a different purpose. To get in tighter place where you don't need 500-1500 ft lbs of torque. It is great and has plenty of power. Most lug nuts are tightened bellow 100 ft lbs for reference.

I also hate the ergonomics of the 12v has the weird upward angle

But isn't there like 2 stubbies? 1/2 and 3/8 and both have different specs too

I'm guessing the slight difference in spec is due to the mass of the anvil. The m18 fuel compact produces slightly more torque as expected. They are nearly the same size...which is the reason you would buy this over say the mid-torque. If you were to only buy one and already have the batteries, the mid torque would be the one to get. I have both as I've nearly bankrupted myself with this seasons Milwaukee deals. If I had it to do all over, I would by my 3/8 impact in the m12 for the slightly smaller form factor.

Great video, summary is to pick between COMPACT m12 (1/2 or 3/8 don't matter) or the COMPACT m18 (don't matter 1/2 or 3/8) but not both.. I think which ever you have the most batteries get that lol. Otherwise the extra power from the m18 isn't worth being the deal breaker or 1/2 to 3/8.

Then at most you'd want to get a mid torque m18 (NON compact) if you're just an average DIY and need that extra oumph. Guess they don't make m12's NON compact impact wrenches?

Then anything higher is just crazy

That was kinda my point… the M12 is lighter and smaller, the thing is tiny, while having the same torque spec. I don't know why you'd want a big 'ol M18 battery pack when a little M12 is much nice to hold, in your example, over an engine.

I went from hype to get this tool to looking to return it.. i really just want the one best impact wrench for everything and I thought this was that. But if this wont take off all/most lug nuts… it aint the power machine i thought it might be.

Whats the best impact wrench to get in a small form factor? They say the 3/8 is stronger than the 1/2 and that the stubby 3/8 is the best. Is that the one? Or is that not good enough for lug nuts? Do i make one of those monster impact wrenches out of an old impact driver?

You're probably talking about the MID torque 2nd gen 1/2" with 650 ft lbs of break away torque that is similar in size to this compact one
