I'm not so sure that comparing a national retailer like Lowes' price is "ridiculous". Yes, these can be had in the $93 range on Amazon, but buying on eBay may not be good for warranty service should you have a problem down the road.

Either way, this is cheaper than both with full warranty.

Not a terrible tool, but unless you're only invested in dewalt 12v I'd save your pennies for a DCF92#, at least 50 ft/lb more torque for not much more money on sale or hacked, and with a power stack it's a mean machine that isn't really any bigger.

I'll save everyone time, this is the one you want: DCF845B. $99 when on sale.
Are you replying to the right thread? The DCF845B is not a 1/2 or 3/8 impact, it's a 1/4 hex impact. Even with that being said, if you want to throw down a must have 1/4 hex impact to get from Dewalt, it should at least be the DCF850B.

12V? It's a discontinued model. If you are smart enough you will score 20V tools for the same or better price. HD has 20V model with the battery, charger, and bag for $99 lol

Great tool. If I had to have just one set of tools (why though?), I'd probably do 20V.

lol what? This is part of the new brushless 12v lineup. The DCF901 is two years old. Does ANYONE in this thread know what they're talking about?

There is other 12v DeWalt stuff on sale too. I'm contemplating this brushless Ratchet [woot.com] for $88 vs the M12 ratchet (2457-20) kit for $99. Already have a few 12v DeWalt tools from previous Lowe's deal but the Milwaukee is generally better reviewed. Would be my first m12. Not sure which way to to go any suggestions?

Not sure how to sort just DeWalt 12v on woot but there is a hammer drill for $67 1/2 impact for $72 and more... Not bad if you have the batteries https://www.woot.com/category/pow..._cat_tools
The dewalt is better than non brushless Milwaukee ratchet in term of raw spec. It's basically comparable to the fuel ratchet in term of performance

I have both DeWalt xtreme and Milwaukee fuel 12v impact wrenches and I like both of them. DeWalt is cheaper, but will get the job done. M12 is the better platform in terms of the amount of tools they have. For people that will use it at home only, the DeWalt is a better choice in value. I use both brands everyday at the dealership with no problems. Engines and transmissions being removed and overhauled everyday. If I need more torque then I'll bring out a bigger gun. Simple as that.

Thanks! I overlooked that.
Same here, but I bought mine on deal awhile back and ended up with batteries too. I was kind of upset that I missed it was a 12v and not 20. However, since it came with batteries, I tested it out. This thing is amazing for it's size. But I would agree, if you don't have the batteries, I'd buy the 20v variant if your invested in that. To me it was a wash because it came with batteries.

I tested a few different brands of drills, impact drivers, and impact wrenches when I moved in to my house.

I genuinely liked the Dewalt 12v stuff the best. Powerful but controllable. Had most of the tools for a year and they are still going great on all kinds of projects… car work, attaching things to the brick, and putting together ikea furniture. The 12v saw is smaller so I take it with me to break down plywood when I need to.

Ordered the impact ratchet earlier this week.

Still waiting/hoping on Dewalt to drop a 12v jigsaw.
