Also they're not a Luxottica brand. Another one that still sells a significant variety with glass lenses is Maui Jim but it's rare to find deals and most of the designs are surfery. I think Persol everything is glass, but they're Luxottica.

Very rare to find sunglasses with Glass lenses these days. Glass is superior in clarity to plastic which is used in most sunglasses nowadays. Plastic also gets damaged and distorted over a few months of use in hot, sunny conditions.

I bought some Serengeti's on an impulse buy from a SD post a few years back. They are hands down the best sunglasses I've ever had.

I'd put them above Maui Jim's especially since Maui's hardly ever go on sale.

I'm tempted to buy a third pair here but I'm not big on aviators without trying them on first. Glass lens aviators can be unbalanced with weight and fall off when you lean forward.

I guess I'm buying another pair of serengeti's. I just bought the Carreras. Have bought about three pairs of serengeti's from this store and they have all been legit. I'm kind of a sunglass snob and have dozens of pairs of Maui Jim's, Costas, serengeti's, revo's, Ray-Bans etc. and I think the older Maui Jim Glass are the best lenses but Serengeti comes real close along with Costas glass lenses. As far as the plastic AKA polycarbonate lenses I think Revo makes the best of those.

serengeti's photochromatic is not the same as regular eye glass photochromatic. it is always dark, but would get darker the brighter it is.

i have a Serengeti Palinuro Polarized Photochromic Glass from this site back in 2018, easily the best glass i have until i stepped on it and damaged the frame. i have been looking for serengeti deals ever since.
They point that out on their website to alleviate doubts that these would be good for driving. I think I also read that they won't look any different whether darkened or not. I got the Haywood to have a polarized pair for days of brilliant sunshine in traffic. 55 works best for me for width too.

Any good online site for nice oversize sunglasses? Thanks
What's "oversized?" The Carraras are 59.

I bought some Tumis from woot that were 60s. I wasn't really paying attention to the specs and that was way too big for me, and I don't exactly have a small head.

Horrible product by the way, those Tumis. The lenses just flat out delaminated after a couple of years of light use and careful handling. I note that eyedictive don't even offer them.

I had a pair of Vuarnet in the late 80s and they were good glasses then and I didn't realize they still made them. I might have to try a pair of there new one to see how they compare today.

Try eBay. I watch for VAUrnet (misspelled often) and grab good pairs sometimes for a bargain. There's one there now.

are there any glasses that work against bright sun light when it sets or rises when driving. I tried many different once and none of them help with that. Even bought some 8% light transmission Oakley Deviation when it was still produced. They are dark but don't help with above. No idea what to try now. I bought 6 different pairs from this site over the years before and all came ok.
For the beach funny enough Carhartt Billings Safety Glasses from amazon work best. They are like 3 to 5 dollars on amazon. Don't think they will last long time but actually work for Sun and from sand getting in the eyes. Cheap enough to loose too. For driving ok too but not for the sun setting / rising, still too bright.

Just noticed the "Serengeti Marlon Polarized Photochromic Geometric Aviator w/ Glass Lens" were available with blue lens and the code worked, so in for one!
