According to their literature there is no interest unless u miss a scheduled payment. But u have to pay it over 4 payments

I'm not seeing this option - only those with some kind of APR. I got it down to $5 though with an upfront payment + paying off in 3 months, which I'll take for the 15%/$60 off. Not sure if it's their agreement with Newegg but I guess they gotta make money somehow!

For me, even with upfront payment, added intetest was $19! It's a pass for me as that makes the total with tax close to $400.

Thats where the descrepancy lies. You have to pay every two weeks and pay the balance off in two months to avoid interest on this deal. Anything longer than two months u pay interest.

Is MSI any good? Never owned one. Seems like I recall my grandmother getting one from a furniture store years ago and it stopped working in three days..

Great deal for the specs. It will be difficult for some to deal with 250 nits however. I recently tried out a 300 nit laptop screen and was just too dark and washed out for me but it's really subjective individual take based on the sceeens you're using now. I'll probably have to look for ones with a bit more.
Indeed. If one doesn't have a computer, 250 nits will work just Jim Dandy.

Checks a lot of boxes...

16gb RAM
USB-C PD charging
14" form factor
Good processor (3152 single thread and 16425 in multithread performance)
Backlit keyboard

If it had a touchscreen, I would probably buy this for the kid as the hinges are probably better than most 2-in-1 systems (son prefers a touchscreen since when he's "stressing out on a test" he likes to scroll with a finger on the screen instead of touchpad).
Doesn't support USB-C Charging, just a data only port.

HDMI 2.1 is not 4k@30hz, and msi website does not mention it in detail, but on newegg it shows only 4k30hz, which is HDMI 1.4 standard. Does have PD 65W through the usb-c port but I wonder if it suppots displayport alt mode.

MSI Modern is supposed to their entry level business line. Right?

With Affirm I can pay it off early and avoid interest or pay minimal interest. There doesn't seem to be any pre payment penalty.

definitely a good enough cpu for most people, but anyone working in graphics should stay away from a 45% NTSC panel. that's equivalent to about 60% sRGB

IS Affirm free or is the re a fee for using that? It pops up 4 payments with APR when I click on it?
I've used Affirm to purchase a bed and mattress over 12 months. Zero interest, unless it's specifically mentioned.
