Yep. Not really sure why you'd bother even getting a laptop with a screen that bad. MSI seems to have a huge stockpile of those garbage 45% NTSC screens.

They're trying to sucker people who just see CPU + GPU + cheap price and don't otherwise understand the trash they're buying. That's the MSI special. They're the Nikola of laptop computers

screen typically doesnt matter. most people buying these do mostly ai and other gpu demanding tasks. if they play games they tend to use desktop monitors

What? This is a gaming laptop. If AI work is your profession, then you sure as hell wouldn't be looking at low budget gaming laptops, which this definitely is. Or do you mean for school, or fun?
4070 laptops with better displays and battery life and full power GPUs have been <$1000 recently.

The 4070 doesn't improve performance beyond 100watts.
It's ~105-110W actually, and the boost on this will be 15-25W, so when the CPU is being used, the GPU will be 90-100W, so you will lose a little.

First you clearly aren't in ai. 2nd tons of people use AI products who aren't ai people. I agree people call them gaming laptops and u can use it with a desktop monitor if the screen bothers you. Every Ai expert i know works with cheap gaming laptops or think pads doing the work in the cloud. its cheaper and easier to just run ai tasks locally. You may want to step out of your bubble, you are missing a lot of cool stuff.

In the cloud you can use pretty much anything... but if you are an expert (I take that to mean you make money at this) and running locally, a janky budget laptop makes no sense. You'd have an expensive beast of a desktop.
The bottom line is that the display is important for most people, and this laptop's sucks. If it was $900 or less it might qualify as a good deal for people who don't care, but not at $1100.

"Every Ai expert i know works with cheap gaming laptops or think pads doing the work in the cloud" and "cheaper and easier to just run ai tasks locally", lol wat.
lmao okay, as a software engineer, i'm going to go ahead and say sit down, be quiet, and keep your silly buzzwords to yourself. If I needed something powerful and cheap that was going to be constantly hooked up to a monitor, it'd be a desktop, not a crappy laptop.

Whoever it is at MSI who decided to put the crappiest displays possible on every laptop <$2000, needs to get fired.
I don't understand why any of these get upvoted.
