I'm still ticked off that I didn't know that the 40% off was considered clearance and not a sale price. It would've been better for me to do Revlon as part of the 10/30 deal. Now I have a mascara that I don't want and isn't even the right color. The transaction was a test on how to get the two CVS coupons to work if the item cost less than the coupons. At least the test worked so it wasn't a complete loss. I was thinking about doing the Softsoap/Irish Spring deal but only doing Irish Spring because I have a friend who really likes it. The Softsoap price is still $6.59 at my store but Irish Spring went up to $6.99 which totally sucks. After the dq, tax, and ecb's my cost per item will be around $3. No x/xx, Ibotta, or anything like that to make the deal better. I normally wouldn't even consider getting it but my friend really wants it. I'll try a different store before I buy it see if they still have the $6.59 price. I'm going there anyway. I wouldn't spend $5 in gas to save 80 cents lol.

If your store doesn't have the signs and tags (on individual items), I highly recommend scanning any cosmetic before you buy it. Even my stores that have lots of yellow dots on various makeup products had a number of things that didn't have yellow dots on them.

Sadly, at this point, the continuation of using coupons at stores is on the honesty of everyone who uses them. So we know where this is going....

SOME of my stores have taken the time to put the yellow 40% dot tags on items in the beauty dept, Some have not and it created an issue for me doing my Sally Hansen deal this week. Best advice I can give is if you are purchasing cosmetic items scan EVERYTHING at the red box so you don't get surprised. I can tell you the Covergirl twin bow and Perfect blend are not amongst the clearance. Sally Hansen Foil Polish is and they are 75% off, not 40.

Their articles are almost always skewed to 'harsh'. LOL
I always head to the red box and price check my items before heading to the register. Mark on I❤ mentioned certain oral care going clearance so I was definitely making sure to scan.

On another note, I have a question that I'm sure I've seen posted, but can't remember the answer. When using the free hair color coupon, if you only buy one at $8.99, and get it free, do you count the $8.99 as part of a threshold deal, (10 off 70)?
