The size is about perfect for us. We used to have ~50qt coolers and I just got tired of dealing with the weight when they were fully loaded. So we tried the 26 qt. I think Ozark Trail coolers, and they were nice but they didn't fit some of the stuff we wanted to take.
35qts hits the sweet spot I think. The automatic light is way more handy than I thought it would be, especially for winter camping where it gets dark earlier. I'm not sure I could go back now. The cooler seems well made, although time will tell. Given it gets kind of mistreated camping the finish doesn't really have any scratches or anything so far. The rope handles are decent, but there are also handles integrated into the body as well. The interior bin is kind of nice, but I think a shallower tray might be more handy.
The only thing I'm not sure about is its ability to keep stuff cold. In our few camping outings, we've had some issues keeping ice. BUT, to be fair, we've been pretty damn lazy about things like pre-chilling and freezing stuff we can for the cooler (which we're normally pretty good about but slacked off on), and we had some exceptionally hot temperatures sometimes approaching 100 degrees. My gut tells me the Coleman Extreme cooler we used previously (which rates extremely highly for a non-rotomolded design) worked better in that regard.
You may want to check other reviews to see their experience on that front. I'm still up in the air about it.
